TBF, that's almost certainly true. The first day I rode it, I ended up coming back in the dark. The high beam took a LOT of switching for it to actually work, and still only works if I press/push it slightly to one side. The indictor switch still feels pretty stiff. He has said he doesn't ride in the dark but I didn't ask if he uses the indicators (based on how he drives his car, I suspect not!!)

I'll go look amongst his cans in the shed and see if I can find something useful!! He said there was contact cleaner in there that he suggested I used on the high beam switch!! LOL


Difficult riding someone else's bike as I'm never sure how much they know and if they'll think it's criticism!!

I had where the indicator switch on my cb300r got dirty inside, and the running lights wouldn't come back on when cancelling the indicator. Few squirts of silicon spray (safe for plastic, see) and work the switch back and forth, and it was good as new.

Must admit the whole catch going up/forward before down foxed me at first.

I'd go out when you have 5 mins and give it a go opening/closing it and getting it on/off the bike when you don't have the stress of being somewhere. Stuff like that gets me right flustered and then logic goes out the window.

As mentioned you don't need the key to get the box on the bike only to remove it. Turn the key, press the lower button and lift the box off.

The press with the arrow pointing up is a bit sneaky, cos you press and push down!!

I plan to head out in hte morning and fit the box even though I don't need it. Then I'll leave the darned thing on the bike!! LOL

Daft thing was, getting the box off, after I couldn't shut it, was sooooo easy
