It was a standard school trip when I was a kid, also standard trip when family had out of town visitors.

I remember going to see the Mary Rose too and thinking it would be impossibly far off in the future when they stopped spraying it with special preserving fluid. IIRC they finished doing it about 10 years ago.

For some reason I had Googled the Victory a few days ago, and was surprised how old she was when Nelson used her as his flagship. So yes, I knew, but only because I Googled it.

Brilliant ship to work on being all wood it made a change from the metal on the other warships and subs in for repair and refits, The "tourists" only get shown parts of the ship but the other parts such as the keel were outstanding to admire.

It's all being done by BAE Systems I believe? I'm basing that on the signs they had up last time I did the tour, which come to think of it was....nearly 20 years ago during the Trafalgar 200 celebrations! I don't think she's had her top masts for a long while now?
