They won't get the opportunity to vote, Sunak will be the only one to get 100 nominations, so will get the job without a vote, he'll do a trade deal with India that's shit for the UK and announce a general election, lose, quit as an MP, then fuck off to the USA

If Bojo gets to be PM again, I'll never vote for the blues again. I thought the Americans were suffering from amnesia, but this would take it to another level.v8-powered wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 3:45 pmJust read that the Clown Prince BoJo now has over 100 too should he put his name in the hat!Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 2:47 pmThey won't get the opportunity to vote, Sunak will be the only one to get 100 nominations, so will get the job without a vote, he'll do a trade deal with India that's shit for the UK and announce a general election, lose, quit as an MP, then fuck off to the USA

As a 51 year old guy I've never voted anything other than Conservative, if BoJo makes a comeback I'll reconsider.

Re: So who will be the next PM?
According to the news this morning he has 50 odd, the only one who will get past 100 is Sunak, it's a done deal, and if someone else does get in, there will be another leadership contest until the party members vote for what's been paid for.v8-powered wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 3:45 pmJust read that the Clown Prince BoJo now has over 100 too should he put his name in the hat!Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 2:47 pmThey won't get the opportunity to vote, Sunak will be the only one to get 100 nominations, so will get the job without a vote, he'll do a trade deal with India that's shit for the UK and announce a general election, lose, quit as an MP, then fuck off to the USA

Re: So who will be the next PM?
Sunak hasn't said he wants the job, the papers this morning are reporting he had a late night meeting with Johnson. I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to cook up something that forces MP's hands into making Johnson leader again.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 7:52 am

Notwithstanding what you guys state to be your intentions here, Johnson may be seen as attracting more general election votes than he repels.v8-powered wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 12:51 amYep, agree 100%

Re: So who will be the next PM?
Truss will be blamed for 'ruining" the tory party - in reality it is Johnson and his out of control ego that have done that. He created a culture in indulgence, self interest, greed and short term personality driven decisions. The even sadder thing is that the members of the party are vacuous, greedy, and disconnected from reality to want him back. He shouldn't be allowed to run a sweet shop let alone the country. He should be left to fuck upo his own life - not ours.

He's successful for the same reason Trump is/was...easy promises and a buffoonish front. Much easier to swallow than economic reality and compromise.

Current supporter counts are Sunak 142, Johnson 59, Mordaunt 24.
Where are the secret supporters touted by Johnson which will push him beyond the minimum 100 entry limit?
In the absence of any evidence of the existence of these secret supporters it does look like Johnson is bullshitting.
Quite unlike Johnson of course.

Re: So who will be the next PM?
That's what "sources" said. Of course Johnson is not going to say this explicitly because he would be directly challenged to name these supporters. If you are not aware of how smoke and mirrors politics work you've been living in an alternative universe.Ant wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 5:21 pmDid Johnson actually say that, or was it just rumoured?irie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 5:03 pm Current supporter counts are Sunak 142, Johnson 59, Mordaunt 24.

Ah, so he didn't say it then, but you called him a bullshitter for saying something that he didn't say.....irie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 6:20 pmThat's what "sources" said. I hope no-one is taken in by leftist, remoaner, traitor-to-the-statues fake news like this.
Bring back Boris. He was Brexity. Nice and Brexity. Keep it Brexity. Because it's all going so well.
