170mm of travel both ends.... lots of bounce, slack head angle.... should be a hoot !

I'd argue yes. But I sat and tried it. @crust didn't mention it looked small

The breaking was from around 2011 - when they had a pivot on the seat tube. A mate in CH got through 3 ...

So last weekend while down at Rogate i chatted to the bloke at Felltrax and said "I'll be up tomorrow afternoon to collect it".

The world then went slightly insane of course with A&E and the lad... so it kinda got forgotten for the short term.

In-between i thought "I'll try the DHX2 in the Trek", which actually went well, fitted and felt nice. But the thoughts of "do i want 'more' " were still present. So tomorrow morning i'm getting up at daft o'clock and heading to Cumbria to collect this one in a trade deal with the Trek.

I'll deffo miss the Trek as it's perfect and arguably perfect for more of the riding next year that the Slayer is.... but the days i want the Slayer, i REALLY want the Slayer, so it'll be the bike getting used. In some ideal world i'd love both, but that doesn't really fly, with too many toys, too many things... So 1 bike in, 1 bike out.

Hey, blame the small child not me... Well, partly him.. Partly me.

I am often/sometimes quite indecisive, despite how things may look. But the more i sit and think, the more it makes sense at the moment. We've got some Enduros booked/planned, some tricky away days and i'd argue more days being uplifted next year at weekends than days being doing 50 milers.

Despite the fact i do love the 50s... ... but time will be against us i think.

Well today was interesting as a mate asked if i fancied a pedal at Lunch-time. Due to not wanting to get the Trek dirty, i took the wifes e-bike, partly because, well why not, but partly because of the below

One of the lads was commenting that the Slayer was arguably too small. But it's bigger than the Embolden, which i didn't feel even remotely out of place riding today (or indeed on the previous rides i've had on it).

But it did set my mind at ease on terms of sizing... sure it's smaller than the Trek, sure it's smaller than some may say i need.... but i'm OK with it

Simple answer to that is, we can only buy what's available and a potential deal. The Trek has been listed and no interest at all. I can PX it with a couple of places, but this is the best option.

Making it fit me, it's a coil shock, it's unlikely to be correct for most people. But it's £30 for a spring. That'd be the case with an coil shock bike.

As far as it goes, I'm happy this is exactly what I want. I didn't buy it because it was all that I can get, I had a tonne of options from a Mega, pivot Firebird, Propain Tyee, 161, etc.

It will be nice though if I can get spring swapped without the tool. Then but it later for bearing stuff etc.
