'END OF 30 ZONE' road sign
I was recently trying to figure out the speed limit on a couple of local roads because it wasn't clear where a 30 ended and a 20 started. The 20 limit appeared to start with a small repeater sign, which is clearly incorrect.
And I've just noticed a brand new pair of signs have gone up - and they say something I have never seen before - 'END OF 30 ZONE'.
Yes, definitely end of 30. There are plenty of END OF 20 ZONE signs about, where the urban limit returns to 30, but I have never seen this end of 30 before.
I can't find anything online about it, and I'm wondering if it's even legal. Anyone know?

Whereabouts was this?
I ask because Oxfordshire have been making a big show of replaying 30mph limits with 20mph ones.

Re: 'END OF 30 ZONE' road sign
IIRC the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions changed a couple of years ago and the requirements for signing of speed limits were loosened. Maybe it's buried in there somewhere?

2016 edition IIRC
But that's all I remember
Apart from that they took out specific roadworks signs, sort of added them to TSM Chapter 8, changing the drawing numbers of some but not others ...

I like the French way. If there is no actual speed sign, you know its a 50kph limit when you get to a village/town sign, and ends when you pass the village/town sign with a diagonal red line through it.
