No Limits Trackdays

Post by tricol »

Morning all,

I was lucky to receive another lovely trackday gift (on top of the RTTL Pembrey day) from my girlfriend Hannah for my 40th at the weekend in the form of a voucher for a No Limit Trackday next year. Obviously banging on about how good Pembrey was planted a seed or two  So, I know there are some mixed reviews out there of No Limits, but I'm certainly excited to do another trackday next year. At Pembrey a few people discussed doing a couple of other days outside of the RTTL weekend. So to get the ball rolling who is up for one next year at say Oulton or Donny? Oulton would be my preferred track as I've been to watch and always wanted to get around it, or Donny being the other one that is close to me. I know it's early doors but wanted to put the feelers out there.

I'd be keen on doing Oulton. Did we speak about this when we were there? Seems like such a long time ago now. Always wanted to do a day there as we used to live down the road in Northwich.

Yea we had a brief chat about it at Pembrey. Hopefully can get a few of us together.

I'd love @Welsh Muffin to do Oulton too, see we're a possible for sure... It's an epic track and unlike the others she's done before, so would be great to get there too.

If the dates suit I'll come to either Oulton or Donno, both great tracks.

I always rolled the throttle oof when coming onto the start finish straight. Irrespective of what I WANTED to do, I rolled the throttle every time !

Definitely shout the date chosen. I doubt I can make it but if I happen to be in the UK and have access to a bike, I might just give it a go :D

I think it was Oulton I did my first (and only) TD on a 600. I went from track days and road riding a Blackbird to a dinky little GSX600r. The first corner scared the crap out of me as I threw it in and nearly literally threw it across the track!

THen the weather went to monsoon and I bailed. A mate borrowed it and loved every second tho!! LOL But he knew how to ride a 600

One of two trackways I did on the KTM was Oulton, the noise bloke just told me to fook off onto the track after it "passed" the noise test,

"what'll it rev to?"
"errr 8 thou"
"Alright give me 6K"
Gingerly wound the throttle up to 4K, noise man looked at meter and shook his head.
"fook off"

The mild weave down the start finish straight was hilarious, as was making the IL4 boys jump as the exhaust popped on overrun as caught them up on corner entry😂
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

I'd be up for either of these Col- Oulton is a track I've never done but would love to, and I love Donington so either ( or both ;) ) are good with me

Surprised when they have a chart telling them where it needs to rev to for the test, they’ve also got the drive by test which is usually around 90db.

Thanks for the responses so far, looks like we might have a little crowd gathering :)

My first thoughts were some time around June or August. I don't think NL have released dates yet (last time I looked) so I'll wait to see what they have in the calendar.

Ideally for me it'll be a school holiday rather than a weekend, i doubt a weekend will be available next year.

I used to love Oulton before they put the chicane in where Knickerbrook was. That was a proper balls to the wall corner.

It's still 150+ up Clay Hill on a litre monster ;)

Aye, it's a fast old circuit. Just imagine what speed you'd be approaching KB at without Foulston's chicane? First race I ever went to was at Oulton in 1968 - no chicanes anywhere, and I watched from the crest of the hill before KB as Hailwood on the 6 went past. What an eye opener that was.
