I witnessed a huge row outside a well-known Maidstone dealer (NOT Paul Smart's) with the bike's owner complaining very loudly that he'd been charged for an oil filter that hadn't been changed - he'd scratched a big X right across the front of it which was a bit of a giveaway. The manager was trying to suggest the mechanic must have put the old one back on again by accident.
Back in the 90's a mechanic mate of mine told me how a customer brought in his Ferreri for a service & when they put it on the ramps they noticed that various parts were marked with Tippex. When they fitted the new parts they also marked them with Tippex.
Ferrari man picked up his car, drove it home, had a look underneath & got all mouthy with the manager, who was unaware what the mechanic's had done.
Customer then returns with his Ferrari being all shouty & they produced the old consumables for him to inspect
