If I was getting a GS or an African Twin, I'd go for the Adventure. It's a personal thing, I know, I prefer the looks of them. The non adventure ones are probably better to ride. Who needs to go 350 miles between fuelling a motorbike? That said I think my scrotey little KTM will do the best part of 300 miles on a full tank.

5 9. He put seat in low position and I'm nearly flat foot. In high pos I was on balls, but plenty so wasn't a problem. It can also be tilted, so high front low back kind of thing. He changed suspension and the whole bike went up. I've got plenty of pissing around to do when I get it home, Tuesday night.

My mates must be the adventure, 30L tank I think, mines 20L. Good for 200+ miles. What year is yours.?

Mines a 2016.

I can rape the arse off it and still get 200 miles. A friend who doesn't ride quite so spiritedly has an Adventure and gets over 400 miles from a tank.

FWIW I'm six two. And benching ten quarters, so I'm hard to sweat. I'd make different decisions if I was short, like Iccy is. :(

Tbh, it'll be nice not looking for fuel after 100 miles. They're a proper armchair bike, really looking forward to riding it home tbh. Never had a bike anything like this before. They sound pretty good aswel.

Yeah, they sound good even on the standard pipe, at a standstill they're very camchainy, especially from the left hand pot. I thought I had an issue it was so loud, but apparently they all do that.

I've been looking for a loud pipe, but the cheaper ones all look too small.

Only the BMW optional Akro and the aftermarket Remus have that double barrelled shotgum look of the OEM pipe.

Also... when you send off the v5, you will receive you a BMW owner starter kit, containing a pipe, some slippers and a leaky catheter.

If you have never ridden one before they take a little adjustment in how to ride them, but once you suss them out they can be a hoot to chuck about. Things like the effect of the shaft drive, the lack of dive from the telelever front end allowing surprising trail braking etc etc

The one you are getting looks like the one i decided between that and the Multistrada, i obviously went the Ducati path but it was a close decision at the time

If i had gone the GS route i would still have tracked it ..... its the perfect inappropriate trackday bike :thumbup:

I've road the non LC. Straight off the MT. Felt heavy at first but soon got the hang of it. Very comfy, pulled well and surprisingly easy to ride, but yeah, felt strange with the shift drive affect at first. How long it stays is anybody's guess, but if the mrs enjoys it, it'll be around for a while. 👍

Don't worry about all that liquid cooling or what the left cylinder sounds like bollocks, just gan it up on t'back wheel. :thumbup:
