Re: Crf1000 or ktm 1190
Not everyone is very good... Lube does that though with heat it warms and gets a bit oily... So i don't think it's anything that 20mins with some GT85 couldn't resolve quite simply. PErsonally though i think that looks excellent and could easily buy that

ESA is the electronically adjustable suspension. It's auto levelling, so no matter how fat your pillion it never steers like a cruiser, it's a pretty plush ride and you just press a button to change firmness and another to toggle preload settings. It's the same thing as Ducati's Skyhook.Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 11:37 am What's esa and gear change assist, just incase I need to know. ☠
The Gear Change Assist is the up/down quick shifter.

Yes, needs to be at operating temperature and checked a minute after it's switched off. I wouldn't worry, it's a dry sump system anyway so it's just the reservoir... that is, it's fine unless it's emptyweeksy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 2:07 pmChecked warm or cold ?Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 2:03 pm

That bike looks great, I like the colour. What was the fuelling like with the akra? Mine has a Fuel can and pops on the overrun. I keep thinking about fixing it but it doesn't wake people up when I'm filtering. It's just a bit anti-social.

you should know better Mr Knees.... cold on a KTM will always give the wrong reading, as above from Dern.Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 2:37 pmCold, had to lean bike other way to get bubble.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 2:07 pmChecked warm or cold ?Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 2:03 pm

Re: Crf1000 or ktm 1190
Tbh, if I could have it for a day, clean it up, use and check, my worries may be answered. I'll see, but no rush to buy tbh.
It's only down the road btw.

Well... I've put a deposit down and picking up later in the week. Doesn't look much like a ktm or a honda. Anyway, here's a pic or two.

Love them or loath them, there's a reason they're the best selling ADV bike and it's not because of Charlie & Ewan any longer.

Re: Crf1000 or ktm 1190
It's got the nav 5 thing and it integrates all the bike info aswel. Very smart I thought, never seen before. Leccy suspension, cruise, heated grips, engine modes, big pillion seat. 3 boxes. Spare screen and original handgaurds included, he preferred the bark busters. No QS though, he said it could be added but doubt I'll bother. Brand new tyres. It'll get a good run up north in 3 weeks, will share more thoughts after that.

Re: Crf1000 or ktm 1190
The QS is a bit that fits around the gear change shaft, I imagine all you'd need to do is fit the part and have it turned on in the ECU if you really wanted it.
I didn't think I'd ever use the cruise, but it allows you to hand jive on the motorway, seriously tho' on the motorway its aces. The problem is the bike has so much engine breaking that when you turn the cruise off by turning the throttle back past the stop it's like you've put the brakes on full.
I changed my BMW topbox for a Givi exactly the same as the one that has fitted. It'll take two normal full face lids.
There's VIN decoders on the tinternets, if you get the VIN off the bike you can get a list of all the options fitted.
Mines got the NAV cradle fitted, but I think the previous owner sold it before trading it in. The reviews are mixed. There's been at least three hardware revisions as they keep going wrong, however you can send them to Garmin (who make them) and they'll send you a massively discounted replacement unit if it does fuck up.

Re: Crf1000 or ktm 1190
Nah, mines not the Adventure, it's a Triple Black, which was a special edition that got all the options... along with a black painted engine and transmission.
The Adventure version is just too big and bulky looking, imho
How tall are you, I notice the pics show the bike with the seat in the low position.
With my seat on high and the ESA set to double helmets, I can only just get both tip toes on the ground.
