Bought some sunnies, muc off, white spirit, tow ball mounted bike carrier, light bar, numberplate and over shoes this week

We’re off to Northumberland on Sunday for a few days so I wanted a better option for the bike as my roof rack one didn’t extend wide enough for the massive Diverge downtube.

Having from heard from yet another mate who's written his bike (and possibly car) off by forgetting it was on the roof rack as he's driven into a height restricted car park I think you've shopped well!

Cheers but it will be handy to have (especially as bikes don’t really fit in the Landy). I just bought a cheap Halfords one. As per the reviews, I have to drill out the safety pin hole to make it fit but otherwise it’s pretty good

NAh i wanted and needed both the longer wheelbase and the greater spacing between bikes when loaded. This one has the best of both worlds in that context.

New torque setting tools for the boys front wheel.

His new Rockshox Boxxer forks have a very specific method of loosening/tightening, first you do non drive side to 6nm, then non-drive side to 3.7nm. I reckon 4nm will be fine

Main reason i bought it is that @Welsh Muffin is taking him MTBing when i'm off to Belgium and i'd like it done right (and also by me on my return and subsequent removal/fittings)

I use a Sealey STS104 digital torque screwdriver. It takes 1/4" bits and has a torque range from 0-20Nm (in increments of 0.01Nm). When the set torque is reached it gives an audible signal and vibrates, and you can see applied torque on the display. Can also be used without preset torque and just watch the applied torque on the display. Superb device.

The reason is, the ones i bought from Topeak have a very very small click. Which would be OK sometimes, but the system on the Boxxers also clicks when you're tightening, so you never know which click is a fork click and which is a torque click.... So going to give your tool a whirl.

As a result of riding off road and race bikes with noisy exhausts, and of age, my high frequency hearing is not as good as it used to be, but as long as the garage is quiet (radio off) I can hear the "torque reached" audio confirmation.

I think i'm better at setting bikes up nowdays, but after the last one broke and was warrantied i sold it on as i felt i'd done enough with the Shockwiz now, but it's a useful little tool to have, so i thought i'd get another before next week at Afan and BPW and i can dial in both the Status and the Trek.

I didn't know you had one matey.... I'm not sure there's enough value for me in buying a used one at the moment. They're generally selling for £215-235 used.... i paid £254 new from Biketart. Obviously i get full warranty for it there.

I'd only have paid £150 tops for a used one, but they don't exist for that money.

If you want a quick sale and fancy a drive to say Loomies later, i'd take it at £150 and return the Biketart one....

But that would be crazy talk

Thanks for the offer - but the thought of Loomies at anytime is enough for me to still in on Market place at 195 and see what happens

A very bling trail torque wrench. Not cheap but when your new bikes seat clamp is a very specific 4.5Nm along with a myriad of other torques for the linkage bolts/stem/steerer what better excuse is there for a bit of tool porn?

Nah, a workstand for races so he can just come in from practice and dump it in there while i then do things like checking pressures etc. Blokey last night doing the suspension had one and i was impresed with it's stability etc... it worked really well.
