I can see where he’s coming from with that statement but his overtake imo doesn’t give him the right to say that, his overtake was pretty shit and not clean at all, he barely made it alongside let alone ahead unlike what Hicky did.

I love Bridewell, I’d love to see him win the championship and said that at the start but I feel Ray is too strong. Last year when he was still in with a mathematical chance of winning I was gutted at Brands when Taz mugged him at the end of each race. Felt strange being down at Brands, Scottish and shouting for Bridewell.

And breathe, what a days racing, absolute fucking madness best describes it.
It's hard not to like Bridewell; the interview with Mackenzie was brilliant: "We're sitting in what will be the upstairs bedroom, where all the magic will happen," and his interview with Shakey was brilliant, "I'm getting four sheeps on Monday, I just need to get a male sheep to hump them all". :D :D

Unless something happens to Ray, he'll win the title, and deservedly so; he's been strong all season, and was leading the championship before the showdown, and continued to do so. However, I still want Bridewell to win

Sorry, just to clarify, thinks Hickman’s punishment was completely ridiculous and I’m at a loss to understand it, but the race director/stewards should at least be consistent if that’s they way they want to police BSB.

That’s how I understood your previous comment and totally agree, I was surprised when it came up as a “ride through” which ultimately became a “start at the back of the grid” for the restart after the first red flag. It’s hard to understand their logic when it looks way worse than Hicky’s move.

My mistake regarding Rory Skinner. It’s his hand and arm that is injured.

After that rate of attrition, I'm gonna get my national licence back.
Easy to score a few points.

The showdown things a joke.

Leon Camier clears up one year and they throw the baby, bathwater, shower, fittings, the lot out the window and introduce a 'made for TV' clownshow.

As for Hickman's move, he was ahead, O'halloran hit the rear of Hicky's bike - racing incident and O'Haloran's behaviour afterwards should have been a Red card. Fair play to the female marshall for not having any of it, but she shouldn't have to put up with that. She's a volunteer, without the marshalls there's no racing, I get he's angry but that was beyond unprofessional, if she hadn't of stopped him he would probably done something really stupid.

I don’t mind the showdown as such, I think it works really well and makes for a good finale to the season. Not sure Higgs even took that into consideration it’s more the commentators going on about Hicky interfering with the showdown contenders but I think the general consensus is it’s every man for themselves regardless of who’s in it or not.

What beggars belief is the fact that Bridewells pass was much worse than Hickys and he gets a ride through penalty which became a start from the back of the grid for the restart.

It was utter madness yesterday and Jonathan Rea had fuck all to do with it 👀😂

What a weekend ….. first off I have no particular favourite and just want good racing.

I struggle to see what Hicky was punished for apart from messing with the bloody showdown and other parties claiming he should have shown respect to the showdown riders is complete bollocks. He is paid to race and that’s what he did. Racing incident IMO and the penalty was ridiculous.

I appreciate OHalloran was angry but to stand there shouting “you’re fucking dead mate” at Hicky over and over when he stopped to apologise was waaaay out of order and having to be pushed back by a female medic was disgraceful and disrespectful

Tommys’ overtake was way worse and a lunge at best yet is penalised a lot lighter ….. why? ….. oh yeah, he’s in the showdown so a DQ would mess up the format

Spin forward to the Supersport final race and Kennedy collides with Stapleford in almost the same circumstances as the Hicky pass but no DQ, no penalty points just a long lap penalty and back through to a podium

Taz has absolutely zero luck this year with his 3rd serious leg break this season. Skinner on the other hand got away relatively lightly with hand injuries when it could have been a hell of a lot worse.

The showdown sucks and always has but for some reason it seems we will always be stuck with it

Just to add

Tommy has been given 2 points on his licence and for race 3 he was put back 3 places on the start grid.

I think the O show tends to melt under pressure & he was venting at Hicky, who imho did nothing wrong,it was just a racing incident.
The incident with Bridewell was worse, did he threaten him as well?
The Stapleford / Kennedy incident was also a racing incident.
I'm still confused as to how each incident got a different penalty.
Will O'haloran get disciplined for his actions?
I don't mind the 'Showdown' series,it's something a bit different & keeps the championship going until the final round. All the teams are aware of the format & prioritse their season accordingly. We've had it in Rugby League since the 90's,so I was used to the format before BSB adopted it.

On another note, when the temperature's dropped the Ducati's got competitive again whilst Brad Ray struggled with grip, now that Autumn's arrived will Ray's dominance fade & could PBM actually get on a podium at a autumnal Donington?

Can you explain to me what the points on the licence mean - well, I know they've put points on his licence!! But what does that mean in the long run. Is it like speeding on a road licence?? How many are you allowed to have? If you go over, what are the penalties?

I doubt it ;)

The only reason they were near the front was Skinner, Mackenzie, Iddon, OHalloran were missing from the grid, Ryde starting from the back and even in the race Haslam ran off track while in front of Sykes …….. take all that out and PBM are 12th and 14th just like the rest of the season.

For whatever reason it hasn’t worked all year long with Bridewell/ Oxford Racing the only Ducati combo to figure out how to make the V4 work this year

The major issue that needs addressing is the race director has a commercial interest in the series, that shouldn’t be allowed tbh

Yep, it's the same as points on your road license; get too many and you're punished. I can't remember how many before you're punished (6 is the figure that's leaping around in my head, but don't quote me on that), and I'm not sure of the punishment. I think you're banned for one race, or something like that.

I also can't remember how long they stay on your license; again, I think it's 12 months, hence Hicky will be riding with points into next season.

I dunno, Higgs is normally spot on with his decisions, runs a good show, and nothing like this has happened in all the years the showdown has been run. It doesn't stop the decisions made look a bit suspect though, I agree.

Yeah as has been said get too many and you get punished, have it taken off you, happened to Sam Munro one year, he was banned for one season iirc. The points are removed after 12 months, you have to renew your race licence every year.
