Thank you for the overwhelmingly positive responses.

I am going to step away from the screen now and enjoy being me for a while. There will be updates and I believe I have the beginnings of a cunning plan. I managed to get some stuff done while buried in my cave. Heres an example of that and an indication where my next business enterprise may emerge.



The Aprillia is still crashed when it failed to reach Cadwell with a desperate lunge off the trailer, the XRS still lurking in the garage after shedding a brake lever going into that hairpin, the RG500 is still waiting for me to fix up my broken down old TIG (it's the exhaust system holding thigs up.

Countess other machines are also patiently waiting. I strongly suspect a one of the XT500s will be the first victim for my attention...

I honestly believe I could now get one running within days if I set my mind to it.

I tend to not read the argumentative posts on here as its not what I come on here for, and rarely even venture into that forum, but I am aware you've been in some blinders in the past, (here, but mainly TRC)!

Anyway, I enjoy your threads and comments and normally come out wiser for reading them. To me, you're what my Dad used to call a "decent sort". Keep positive and keep posting.

can relate to that, but take care that you don't go off at a million miles an hour, do loads, then at some point (days/weeks/months) into the future you pause for breath...and fall over. There are some terms that cover this, it could even be PTSD after what you've been through, but it always gets you once the crisis has passed and you think you're ready to press cruise control.

I'm not trying to put a dampener on anything, enjoy it, just go steady and pace yourself back to normal life.

No you're dead right. In fact I txted the guys and gals (all twenty somethings) to call the whole thing off. Quite a few are next door for "dnd" anyway and neither of those d's is really my thing at all!

This bonfire is just for me. It was the right call no doubt abut it. It is in many ways just what I need. Some quiet head space with my new best friend. Me!

Like others I'm not interested in the political ming mong trolling so haven't really registered the Deadpool thing. You can be argumentitive but so are a lot of the posters in here.

So pleased to read that you've had a breakthrough at last and that it seems to be a proper turnaround, fingers crossed for you. I agree with Potter, you've regained control of the rest of your life, make it a long one, treat it as a marathon not a sprint. Good luck.

Best of luck going forward, as has already been said, take your time, find your groove and take things one day at a time. Small gains.

I went through a prolonged challenging experience and then thought it was over, so I rushed off to try and make up for lost time, hurtled head first into everything and became very busy. Then just as I thought everything was back to normal I had a big mental crash and couldn't understand why.

If you try and get too much done in a short period of time, you could be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Burnout was one of the first things to occur to me also. The sheer amount of energy I have right now is, well, it really is moped/Fireblade. That is literally the proportional difference in my current capacity to do stuff.

It is fantastically intoxicating. I cannot believe what I was able to do yesterday and today, things just keep getting done. I will slow down and maybe post a thread which is mostly about storage systems with 3d printing widgets.

For the past few decades I have built up a hoard of stuff and it has been gathering slowly filling up my house/home/garages waiting for me to get around to it.

So I am listening and it sounds like good advice too. The candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long.

The treatment that's available these days is a ray of light in an otherwise dark place.

I've known two people with MS who, once the diagnosis and medication was sorted, led / lead great lives. Not saying it's easy for them at all,but the difference between pre and post treatment is night and day.

Yay for you! A little tip that might help in the battle for any future treatment. Do an SAR (subject access request, you'll be able to find the link on the hospital website) and specifically request *all* of the notes & radiology (images and records) that the hospital that treated you hold. You'll need to do this for each individual trust if it was different hospitals. They have to provide you with this within 30 days (my last part time job before completely retiring was Corporate Governance in the NHS) of acknowledging your request, it'll get sent in PDF format, and a link to the radiology site where you can download the images.

It's handy have these records for any future conversations, you'll see exactly what the specialists have diagnosed/written, their names/dates any recommendations for drugs and so on rather than trying to have to dredge things up from memory. NB, this is hospitals only, GPs are a completely different system.

Damn that sounds like a great idea. I have tried something similar before but got nowhere. There have been multiple occasions over the years where my scans have been lost or the consultant so busy and so much time passes between appointments, cancellations, delays, they need another scan and the cycle begins again. That happened many times, over many years...

What you have taken sounds similar to the effects of steroids, be careful if that also means you'll get a similar crash.

It's good to see you're back on here although not with the news anyone wants to hear. Just for info - methylprednisolone IS a steroid, just like all prednisolone derivatives, so the above is relevant.

And I see you typed your opening post at 2am, when most of us are safely tucked up in bed, preparing for whatever tomorrow brings. You need to take care of the new Screwd, and that means sleep is necessary, not just a good idea.
