I hadn't but they showed clips of all his shows and some of the one sided phone calls that I hadn't heard last night. eg the security guard at the Empire State building (with a big gorilla climbing it) one.

It didn't exactly make me happy, but it did make me smile:

I shop online at Tesco. Every now and again I'll go through my "favourites" (i.e. stuff I've bought during the last year) to see if I want to order that stuff again. Sometimes an item will be out of stock or they stopped selling it, in which case Tesco will suggest an alternative. Usually something sensible, but sometimes not.

Spending 30 mins walking the dog up and down past a pile of his food, training him to 'leave it'. Not only did he get it quite quickly he also remembered his training later that day listened when I told him to leave a large bone some idiot had left on a picknic bench

A local expat has had a shoulder injury and had issues with the surgeon so didn't go ahead with the surgery (ruptured rotator cuff or similar). Anyway, someone put him in touch with me to get info on the medical folks that I've seen and who I can recommend. We met today (after lots of info given/swapped on messages) to just chat as he's got an appointment with my shoulder surgeon soon

Whilst chatting I made a comment along the lines that some medics are likely (especially in the UK, less so here) tell you that at 'our age' we should be slowing and doing less 'stupid shit', so big surgery isn't 100% necessary.

He laughed and said something like "ah, but they don't say that to you, you're far too young - whereas a few have said I shouldn't be so worried etc "

Turns out I'm 6 months older than him

I don't get on with my mother particularly but I am always and will be forever grateful that I have some of her genetics

I replied " Tell people not to throw them away, charity shops, animal shelters, people collecting for refugees would all appreciate the blankets"

20 minutes later a new group email arrives

" Any blankets in reasonable condition should be given to charity, animal rescue centres and refugees "

I've just had a 3 hour MTB ride on my own. It was epic! Just perfect playing in the woods. Every turn, pedal, corner was superb. Even the headwind home couldn't dull it.
Sometimes riding is such a simple pleasure in its own right, it gives me a sense of fulfillment and completeness, I can really explain properly, just when you're in the moment hitting a trail, taking a berm, or popping a root, you're so absorbed that nothing else exists, nothing matters, the world just melts away.
I used to get this with motorbikes bit these days only pedals can find it.
Mrs weeksy thought I'd be sleeping as she's away, last night she called at 2am and I picked her up in Reading at 2.50am as her train options were expired due to it being 3am lol. I took 3 of her mates home first.
Sure, they could have got a cab, bit I was happier getting them myself at that time.

Pizza, cider leftover from Pembrey and a hot bath.

I meant the fact that he queued 12 hours and didn't try to jump the queue.
