As if by some cookie magic, I've just seen an advert on Friendface for the new HJC I100 Helmet.

It's got a chin bar that flips back over the top like the Shark Evo (but looks a bit lower rent).

Can I ask why? I want a full face Roof helmet (if I can find one, should be able to hear but few options online!!) as I really liked the two I had many years ago, for fit and function. But never crashed in either (well, not and hit my head!)
They fit badly, they are noisy, whilst they look hip and groovy, the front press studs were a shoddy way of fitting the chin bar, and when the chin bar is behind you, it unbalances everything.
Apart from that they are great

Ah ok!! It was a full face I had. I’m still not sure I can bring myself to go down the flip front route!

The Rpha flip, more conventional is quite good, although I have never used it in bad weather.

I have 2 Caberg flips. Not in the Arai/Shoei league fir quality, or price, but a decent helmet. A bit noisy, but so are most flips.

"Not as safe"?

The majority of recent flips are dual homologated as open face with the chin piece up, and as full face with it down and locked.

Probably referring to Sharp testing, how often the front opens during impact? ie Vs a rigid full face lid.
