What do I need to fit this connector?

Post by Supermofo »

Want to wire my Sat Nav to the spare live connection behind the headlight of the GSXS. I've just had a look and took some pics. What is it I need to buy to mate into this?

I'm sure I can get on from ebay/amazon etc but no idea what I need.

Have a browse at https://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk/

Or chop it off and use whatever connector you like.

Thanks mate  I'll order one of those, defo looks the same.

I did consider just chopping it off but felt with a new bike it'd be nice not to bodge it!

When I fitted the tail tidy to mine, I bodged all the connections.
When I was clearing up I found some nice connectors in the box :(

There's a spare connector under the seat on the 750, no idea what it's for.

That's what I store in the top box along with an assortment of rubber fists.

I couldn't think of a suitable witty response, so I left it.

So I have the connector but only just getting around to fitting it. Without a volt meter which is live? There's a white/green wire and a black/white wire. Chatting to my brother he's had a look at the wiring diagram and is pretty sure the green/white is live.

I was gonna ride to his and sort it as he has a volt meter but looks like heavy showers all week. But at the moment think I'm better waiting till I can check in case it blows something if I get it wrong?

I did exactly that with an electronic ignition kit.

Have you a 12v bulb and holder? One wire from the holder to earth on the bike, the other to poke into the connector on the bike. If the bulb lights up then that's the live wire.

Nope. I am completely useless at DIY and mechanics so have very little in the way of useful stuff!!

On SRADs and SVs, theres a 2 pin plug under the rear seat for the diagnostic too. (A paperclip)
