Condolences man. I hope the bureaucratic side goes smoothly for you,we are 18 months in on my BIL's estate and nowhere close to being sorted. It's a real pisser dealing with loss, then fighting the system.

Just a massive thanks to @weeksy and @Welsh Muffin for putting on another epic Pembrey weekend.
Brilliant to meet up again with everyone from last year and all the new faces this year.
Bit different for me now with my lad joining in the fun, torn between being chuffed to see him out on a bike and worried sick until he’s safely back off it😂
Hopefully got some video footage of a few of you riding around but whether I can ever figure out how to put it up on the forum is another matter.
Must say, everyone I managed to see out in inters looked to be riding really well but special mention for @Welsh Muffin who’s lines were immaculate, and @twids backing it into the old hairpin, intentional? Of course 😀
Shame more couldn’t have stayed on for the Sunday, despite the forecast it turned into a glorious sunny day, ( which as alway bought out the usual flurry of red flagged sessions), and it was good to watch the annoyingly fast @Bowman and @Vote for pedro doing their stuff out in the ‘big boys’ group.
Thanks again to all for making such an excellent weekend.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, it was good to meet you all. Had a great time over the weekend, probably drank a bit too much, a hangover combined with the lack of adrenaline made today a bit of an ordeal but would do it again next week if I could.
Thanks weeksy for all the effort put in and a big shoutout to everyone that helped sort out the errant awning, it would've caused a lot of damage if it wasn't for you guys.
We were very lucky with the weather and managed at least 4 sessions each day so very thankful considering the forecast earlier in the week.
Looking forward to next year.

Your main thanks for that one go to Natalie who is the wife of Phil who was in Fast group with you on the black and yellow Blade. She was in the camper opposite and saw the awning start to lift and grabbed it and shouted for help ;)

A couple of us ran over and held it down till you lads came back in from your session .... i think @dern and @Dodgy knees were hands on with me trying to sort out the straps but could be wrong

I am amazed all the other awnings stayed in place Saturday night with the storm that hit about 0300 ....my tent was moving about so expected to find awnings all over the place but looks like our "tie it all the awnings together and block the wind direction with vans" plan succeeded

I think its fair to say James had the left handers at the back of the circuit nailed after a couple of laps ;)

Am a bit late to the party with my write up, but as others have said, was a great week-end overall.

My trip started off with what seems to be the usual longer-than-expected friday afternoon drive down ( took 5hrs for what should have been 3.5hrs) meaning I got to the circuit a bit later than hoped at approx 7pm, so missed the Weekseys, but@Dodgy knees @Bigyin and @singlesman were already there, and @dern and @twids followed shortly after so we got a couple more gazebos up, they got their tents up , I got my bike out of the van and replaced it with a blow-up mattress, and we all settled down under the gazebos with a few beers for a catch-up, and @Vote for pedro came and joined us too.

And it was a good job we ( “we” as in people I know rather than actually me :D ) had a gazebo to sit under as it wasn’t long before it absoloutely started hoofing it down- this was the view from the gazebo at approx 9pm- the wiered thing was that where weeksy and the rest of the gang were, 5 or so miles down the road in Llanelli, it was bone dry.

Anyway, it didn’t rain for too long , and I was sleeping in my van so TBH I wasn’t too bothered

Saturday was another great day- very quiet in terms of the number of people there, but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing ( from a punter’s short-term point of view, if nothing else) - none of us fell foul of the ( unique and somewhat crudely implemented IMO) new noise policy which was a good thing, and I think it’s fair to say that a great time was had by all with not a single off or stoppage in any group all day Saturday- not often you can say that.
We were staying in a hotel 2 miles down the road on Saturday night and I had to drive there so left the BBQ before it got to a one-eyed job, have to say I was very glad I wasn’t in a tent at 2-3am Sunday, I thought of all you campers when I got up to close a window as the wind was blowing the rain into our , err, Bridal Suite

When I got up on Sunday, wwhat a difference though- a bit damp but bright and sunny and I have to say I was jealous of singlesman bowman and pedro, the weather was fabulous, and if we hadn’t had other pre-planned Wales commitments that day, I’d have been back for the Sunday sessions, and TBH, I was wishing that I was there all day...

Highlights for me were, as usual, mainly the company , both the old (in both senses of the word in some cases ) face, and a few new ones too in @tricol @Bowman and @Vote for pedro all top fun people, with a special mention for tricol- he's not had that long on a bike, it was his first TD and he was pedaling round at a decent pace, completely unfazed and nonch as you like, a cool dude 8-)

And of course, my green bike- although it’s doing my old-man hip and knee joint no good at all, and as @Couchy is always keen to point out, means I don't have any excuses for being slow as it's a "sportsbike" :) ;)

Anyway, I can’t really fault it- it's a little screamer that again performed faultlessly, the tyres seem to last forever on it too, relatively speaking.

As for pics , I took the grand total of two photos over the weekend, one of them is of gazebos further up this thread and the other one is equally as exciting so I haven't bothered putting it up- must remember to take more next time

So a big thanks to @Alan PBTD , @weeksy and @Welsh Muffin for the efforts they put in and making it so enjoyable, it is appreciated - and to everyone else who attended too for making it such a fun weekend for me

That'll be it for Pembrey and me this year, I might get to fit one last day at Cadwell or Snetterton in in the coming weeks before the weather completely turns to shite, but I'll be back next year- hopefully Phil and Alan will still be running their days, as their events do have a different (and much nicer IMO) feel than the NL/FE organized ones :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Was a good couple of days on track and was nice to catch up with you all … had a proper laugh Saturday night at everyone’s expense (nothing personal )🤣🤣 I was expecting a late start / thunder storms Sunday morning so had a few ciders and a late night …. The weather was lovely in the morning as the storm has blown over 🥳🥳 had a good few sessions Sunday then a bit of tuition from the instructor gav(trackdaytyres) and got s few pointers … shame someone had an accident in the afternoon which stopped me getting back out but the heavens opened up anyway … next time

No incidents at all.... lovely smooth and easy day as always.

It was a massive shame that others screwed up the Fridays for people, along with numbers on Sat and Sun that are not sustainable for @Alan PBTD and the gang to bother with. If people don't book, this could very easily be the last. I know i've said that before, but the numbers simply don't justify the time, effort and costs for the lads.
Absolutely gutted to not make it - it sadly was a case of throwing money to fix my old car, essential for commuting etc. If this event takes place again I'll gleefully cough up asap and deal with whatever life throws at me afterwards.
Meanwhile, having sorted car out I'm ginning for mallory on 23rd Sept since that's the day after payday so I can risk it like a mint club biscuit!

Another forgotten photo from the weekend. Not sure who he is but this slightly disheveled character turned up halfway through Saturday night.
Looking like some sort of ‘Time team’ extra, he seemed friendly enough, drinking beer and conversing in a slightly foreign accent!😂

Noob bike cleaners can learn a lot from that. Balanced, slightly dynamic posture, nicely positioned in relationship to the bike and that head position is good, giving a laser-like focus. As they say 'Look where you want to wipe'.

Strange bloke, but he rocked the Jack miller mullet look though ;)
