Naughty step X2 today.
So today I've put 2 members on short term bans.
I won't go into depth on why, but in simple terms, you know the rules.
Calling a mate a tosspot in a friendly way is very different to throwing insults out there, we all know the difference and it's not hard to spot.
The rules are here for a reason.
But, you know what, I'm not a school teacher, nor a child minder, I've got a job, a life too.
Now I guess it could be argued that my posts had a bit to do with this scenario, but I can't ban myself and I didn't break the rules either, but I apologise for being a part of it.
End of discussion, play nice or don't play. Simple.

Was it the Ukraine invasion thread or the heating bills thread?

You see, no. Not really and I hope it never comes over like this. It's the rules we as a forum have laid out in the last 20 years as common decency, forum etiquette etc. I honestly don't see or hope anyone sees this place as my forum, or my rules.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 9:05 pm Spoil sport

That's not how it was built or how I try to run it.

Over the years there are more and more threads that I just can't be bothered to open because, whilst I'd like more information on the topic (I don't read news, and people here are way more informed than I am, so I read a lot here), I just can't deal with the way people 'write/speak' to each other on here sometimes - and it's generally in the threads about current day topics.
So, if people overstep a line for you (or others with a thicker skin than me) I'm ok with a slap on the wrist/time on the naughty step. Makes threads a generally nicer place to be

Naughty step is so 1970’s, you should’ve sat them down and asked if a ban was the outcome of their actions that they expected/wanted……..
Mrs M was a Teacher who firmly believed in the naughty step/playtime bans but then they had a new Head from a posh school who banned such things and then wondered why discipline went to shit.
