Regreased the Curtis’ headset (Chris King, 3 years old and still going strong). Refitted my newly serviced DT Swiss forks, only marred by TF Tuned forgetting to thread the lockout cable through a bracket meaning I had to redo the hateful thing myself. Dog walk and dinner.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've had an awesome weekend. Rode the bike each day (not much yesterday, but I still rode!) and spent pretty much all of yesterday chatting with SSD (from the old place) as he was 'passing' for the second time in three weeks and stayed at my friends chalet, this time with a loonatic mate who cycled from La Plagne, down to the valley and then up to the Col de l'Iseran and back down to Bourg
Frikkin mad man, but he did it and survived to chat yesterday evening and this morning
Fair play!!
So, whilst he was doing that, SSD and I chatted, drove down to Bourg to have coffee at my friend's shop and get some pastys. More chat. Then we drove up to meet his mate at the top of the Col de l'Iseran - we were actually a bit slow and met him on the way back down about 4kms from the top!! He carried on down and me and SSD continued (in their van) to the top, turned round and met the loony back down in Bourg for refreshments
All three in the van back up to the chalet then met up for dinner and more chat with the chalet friends and another friend that lives in resort too
This morning - breakfast (arrived just in time for breakfast to find the boys were still in the hot tub
), more chat, then said goodbye and I went to the valley to my friends shop to catch up with people and they headed off to continue their trip
I finished last week bloody miserable and sulky because I was missing yet another Pembrey TD. But actually, I've had an awesome weekend

Yesterday I was in Rochester Cathedral as the Liturgical Deacon at the Ordination Service for Priests. I'm the fellow on the left. + Simon and + Emma next to me.

Just been watching them lay the base for the footings. It was dry in an hour ready for next thin layer

They skimp on the soundproofing after the first phase, apparently. Paper-thin walls and single-glazed windows to the side are typical....

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've had an amazing day.
Met a couple of friends for coffee early as one is leaving tomorrow and the other's apartment is having windows and doors changed, so he needed to be out for the day, with his dog!
He said he fancied driving over the Col du Petit St Bernard and down to La Thuile for lunch. I went too as I've never been over that pass or down to La Thuile
WOW. I mean, I live on a mountain and the views are amazing. Awesome how amazing views of different mountains are!!! The landscape is very different to here in some ways. Roads will be fan-freaking-tastic on a bike (not this year unless I go up on my mates CBF in October and that is weather dependent!!). We stopped to stretch legs at the top of the pass. Then headed down to La Thuile for lunch at a little place recommended by some friends. DAMN that was good (even better that he treated me
) and we both felt ridiculously full - not a huge meal, but sooooooo rich and flavourful!!
Pretty funny, and good for the ego, as the nice Italian lady gave us the French menus, not the English version - neither of us speaks Italian, but he speaks some French and I speak reasonable French. Given that the resto was so close to the French border, we spoke french initially!! LOL Even for the dessert, she gave us one english and one french - the translation of Millefuille was pretty funny!! (Need to find the photo to write it here as they did!!)
The we drove out to Courmayeur to see if we could get a look at Mont Blanc. Sadly the cloud was doing a good job of shielding MB, but Stu pointed out a glacier so that was cool
Too many photos taken but also didn't take a charger for my phone, so once that's recharged, I'll dump some pics
Freaking awesome day

All our guests get a super off road tour. But this couple are on their 7th visit so struggling to make it as exciting as usual. So had a giggle and did a few tourist places

Re: What have you done today thread?
Went and got bits of me squished this morning - not in a nice way
Bonus was that both the radiologist that did the squish and the radiologist that did the squeezing (WTF the female one can't do both I don't know!) asked why I was there - didn't believe it was because I'm at the age that I have to go every two years
Had to go to my friend's shop for coffee and chat to recuperate after the squishing. Then home to relax
I had this idea in my head that riding the bike would get easier the more I do it. It isn't
Bloody hope that changes next summer as I will be a smidge peeved if it doesn't!!!
