What’s recommended as I’ve just trashed yet another pair of jeans with a combination of masonry paint, caulk, tile adhesive, and wearing the knees and arse out!

I’m down to my last pair of workable jeans so I’m on the lookout for cheap, hard wearing and comfortable workwear / jeans and potentially tee shirts as I go through them at a rare rate as well.

Scruffs. Dickies. Shorts, not jeans. I only do shorts

I used to buy Snickers floorlayers trousers for years, they started off well and the kneepads are the best I've used by far (without getting into the strap on dedicated ones that actual floorlarers use) and they started out well but at some point they started using crap thread and a month into ownership needed stitching up. Oh and the zips were poor. They are way too expensive for that shit.

Then I bought a secondhand pair of Blaklader trousers off Ebay and they were waay better quality, triple stitched seams, fly buttons and pockets everywhere.
Since then I've bought another two pairs and a pair of work shorts with no issues.
They're sized tighter than Snickers so I want up two sizes over my usual and its the Nyco ones with a percentage of aramid fibres.
Sorry but I can't help you out with the cheap part cos they're about a hundred quid a pair for the strides and high fiftys for the shorts.

I still use Snickers kneepads in the Blaklader strides though.

Thanks all, I’ve taken a punt on the Aldi specials and will take a further look at Dickies and Scruffs. I’ve tried Screwfix ones in the pass and found they fitted the waist but not my thighs, which is weird as I’ve not got legs like Chris Hoy!

If I was wearing them all day, every day for work then I’d go with some like Demo suggested, but it is weekends and the odd evening of use.

I’ll report back on the Aldi ones when they arrive
