Am a bit late to the party with my write up, but as others have said, was a great week-end overall.
My trip started off with what seems to be the usual longer-than-expected friday afternoon drive down ( took 5hrs for what should have been 3.5hrs) meaning I got to the circuit a bit later than hoped at approx 7pm, so missed the Weekseys, but
@Dodgy knees @Bigyin and
@singlesman were already there, and
@dern and
@twids followed shortly after so we got a couple more gazebos up, they got their tents up , I got my bike out of the van and replaced it with a blow-up mattress, and we all settled down under the gazebos with a few beers for a catch-up, and
@Vote for pedro came and joined us too.
And it was a good job we ( “we” as in people I know rather than actually me

) had a gazebo to sit under as it wasn’t long before it absoloutely started hoofing it down- this was the view from the gazebo at approx 9pm- the wiered thing was that where weeksy and the rest of the gang were, 5 or so miles down the road in Llanelli, it was bone dry.
Anyway, it didn’t rain for too long , and I was sleeping in my van so TBH I wasn’t too bothered
Saturday was another great day- very quiet in terms of the number of people there, but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing ( from a punter’s short-term point of view, if nothing else) - none of us fell foul of the ( unique and somewhat crudely implemented IMO) new noise policy which was a good thing, and I think it’s fair to say that a great time was had by all with not a single off or stoppage in any group all day Saturday- not often you can say that.
We were staying in a hotel 2 miles down the road on Saturday night and I had to drive there so left the BBQ before it got to a one-eyed job, have to say I was very glad I wasn’t in a tent at 2-3am Sunday, I thought of all you campers when I got up to close a window as the wind was blowing the rain into our , err, Bridal Suite
When I got up on Sunday, wwhat a difference though- a bit damp but bright and sunny and I have to say I was jealous of singlesman bowman and pedro, the weather was fabulous, and if we hadn’t had other pre-planned Wales commitments that day, I’d have been back for the Sunday sessions, and TBH, I was wishing that I was there all day...
Highlights for me were, as usual, mainly the company , both the old (in both senses of the word in some cases ) face, and a few new ones too in
@tricol @Bowman and
@Vote for pedro all top fun people, with a special mention for tricol- he's not had that long on a bike, it was his first TD and he was pedaling round at a decent pace, completely unfazed and nonch as you like, a cool dude
And of course, my green bike- although it’s doing my old-man hip and knee joint no good at all, and as
@Couchy is always keen to point out, means I don't have any excuses for being slow as it's a "sportsbike"
Anyway, I can’t really fault it- it's a little screamer that again performed faultlessly, the tyres seem to last forever on it too, relatively speaking.
As for pics , I took the grand total of two photos over the weekend, one of them is of gazebos further up this thread and the other one is equally as exciting so I haven't bothered putting it up- must remember to take more next time
So a big thanks to
@Alan PBTD ,
@weeksy and
@Welsh Muffin for the efforts they put in and making it so enjoyable, it is appreciated - and to everyone else who attended too for making it such a fun weekend for me
That'll be it for Pembrey and me this year, I might get to fit one last day at Cadwell or Snetterton in in the coming weeks before the weather completely turns to shite, but I'll be back next year- hopefully Phil and Alan will still be running their days, as their events do have a different (and much nicer IMO) feel than the NL/FE organized ones
