Re: Brit leccy bikes
I like the idea and with enough money spare I'd have a lecky bike.
Quieter bikes sounds like an ace idea to me.
I'm not one of those people who feels the need for a loud bike, it's not an advantage to me.

I'd be v tempted by one of these (but not at £11.5k). Might wait for the s/h market to get going.demographic wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 7:39 pm I like the idea and with enough money spare I'd have a lecky bike.

There's various young kids hossing about here on lecky bikes already, some of them look quite entertaining if not fully legal.

For me that's a big selling point, apart from being easier to charge it's a big theft deterrent.

Re: Brit leccy bikes
It's a glass half full/empty thing. My thought was a removable battery is a nickable battery.
I suppose they could do something clever like each battery is associated with a bike so scrotes couldn't nick a battery-less bike and stick a non-associated battery in. Nor could they nick a battery and stick it in something else. Buy a new or second battery and the dealer keys the battery for the bike (or bikes). Unfortunately a) it costs, and b) scrotes seem to be as good at this sort of thing as the security people, and c) some scrotes probably have contacts in a dealership.
(I did see some pond-life nicking a scoot, in broad daylight, outside a shop, on a busy central London street. A quite beefy chap came out of the shop and said 'Oi! What do you think you're doing?'. To which they replied 'Nicking it, what the does it look like?' and carried on).

Lots of this going on here now, without the helmets, normally balaclavas as none of the bikes are legal and most have upgraded batteriesdemographic wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 8:40 pm There's various young kids hossing about here on lecky bikes already, some of them look quite entertaining if not fully legal.
