Lots of stories around of house funds going adrift usually involving hacked solicitors systems (or someone bent/compromised on the inside) and sending out dodgy bank details and funds getting hoovered up by crims. It's one thing losing a few bob on an iffy eBay purchase but when a few 100k or more's involved you'd expect systems to be absolutely solid.

Still, you're in and it looks like the bank's problem.
Yep, all good now - built the bed, sent missus out for pizza, had a quick swim and now necking a few bottles of red

Had the old solar system taken out and a new one installed. The house is already off grid, the new system means I can lose the gas bottle hot water system and go electric, and I can run air con/heating for a bit more temperature control summer and winter.

The non eco bit is that I'll still have bottled gas for cooking and will need to use the log burner sometimes in the winter.

BMW passed its MOT today, after 2 new Conti’s on the back, one had a bulge and the other had a nail in it. £300 the pair!!
Then we totally emptied what we call the shed, brick storage room attached to the house. Loads of stuff chucked out.
Long chat last night to plan out future together, it’s all starting to happen but taking it slow, only been together 8 years, no rush.
2 weeks away in the caravan now being planned for September.
Productive couple of days all in all.

It's all good so far, early days though. The house is working well, first Spanish lesson next week, we're gradually finding our way around, no negatives yet. The locals are the usual Dutch/Belgian/British and of course Spanish, everyone seems friendly.

I think Whysub is about 20 minutes from here, I've not been in touch though.

Are you looking at houses?

I got back into my walking routine this morning - eek!!

Then did more sorting in the apartment.

Bonus was finding that the sick pay that came today was more than expected, so my electricity is now back on full power (well, 6kw things, instead of 11kw thing!!!) so now I can run the washing machine above a 30 degree wash and also - use the oven :bblonde: Want to bake some goodies for my rehab friends for Tuesday, so I'm very happy about that!! :D :D

THEN - went to a quiz in a local bar with some friends. All english, one understands a bit of french and reads more than me, I understand better but read less. Quiz was in French but the quiz master did mostly translate (there was another english team). We only bloody came 2nd :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

And there is a rain storm (was a thunderstorm) so everything is going to look more green :D :D

Spent the morning and 2 hours this aftie unblocking one of our soil pipes.
Fucking wet wipes AGAIN!
I tell all our visitors, pee, poo and paper only down the loo, but noooooo, some people see fit to chuck their make up wipes down the shitter.
Yes its women, because all our friends who have visited this year have been of the feminine persuasion.

Today I have finally finished the kitchen worktops and fitted the new sink, I've been putting it off for weeks. I said I'd get it done in my week off just gone, I was running out of time.

Couldn't find the waste end cap (gone from double to single sink) I bought for this job months ago so I've warned everyone not to run the tap too fast until I can get another.

Bathroom next, just the walls left to retile as the plumber has changed everything else. He told me I have little chance of finding a trades guy to do the walls so I guess I'm pulling the radiator off and making a start

Took eldest to airport. Apparently easyJet brought the wrong plane (40 seats short).
So they announced "looking for 'volunteers' to not fly today. 500€ compo plus rebooked to next convenient flight plus accom and transfers. Caveat, if they were still looking for 'volunteers' come takeoff, they'd start "random' selection ' and the compo would be reduced to 250€". Lolz.! Cheeky feckers.

Looking around the departures hall, there wasn't exactly a rush to volunteer and given the demographic was primarily holidaying families and elderly, it seemed pretty likely a 20s geezer travelling on his own would be 'randomly selected'.

So he took the 500 and came back with us for the evening, going again tomorrow.
Nobody compod me for hours hanging around an airport, mind.

What is it with easyJet at the moment? They're making Ryanair look like BA.

They're seriously shite at the moment. My niece came here a couple of months ago on EasyJet. On the return, they got to Dalaman to be told there was a delay as the plane hadn't arrived yet. Eventually it arrived, kicked everyone off and my niece watched the cases being loaded for the return. Half an hour later, the cases were taken off and an hour after that the plane left, empty. The two hundred+ passengers watching all this happen were not overly impressed.

My niece was able to book a flight the following day with Jet2. I must ask her what compo she got.

I did find a rather nice Cidre yesterday!! Won't risk drink much or often (cloudy cider doesn't like me so I have to assume that cloudy Cidre will be the same :D ) but it was rather lovely

Spent the night with the devil, third on the trot and currently sitting on the sofa feeling cold and sorry for myself. Every time I get a bug it goes to my guts. ☹️
