Re: Honda CBX
I really didn't like the original CBX earlier in this thread, but the dB Customs CBX above looks pretty much bang on, except for the seat. That's tilted at the wrong angle (too high) and is too big and bulky. Apart from that, all good. Very impressed that the builder has managed to lose 135lbs (60-odd kilos in real money). I'd very much like to know the power the motor makes now with all the mods. And the exhaust is a genuine thing of beauty. Bet it sounds good.

Re: Honda CBX
Reading the blurb it's got some proper big hitters in there, which I suppose you'd have to have to save that much. Carbon wheels, that exhaust and a new swing arm must be the biggest chunks.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 6:43 pm Very impressed that the builder has managed to lose 135lbs (60-odd kilos in real money)

Re: Honda CBX
Yes, he's done all the right stuff. It doesn't say so in the blurb, but I do wonder if he's made some chassis mods (bracing and gussetting), as even back in the day they were regarded as a bit of a flexi-flyer...Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 7:41 amReading the blurb it's got some proper big hitters in there, which I suppose you'd have to have to save that much. Re: Honda CBX
Looks dated compared to the dB Customs one. CB1100R top fairing and seat just add to the overall 'heavy' look of the bike, and because the width of the engine means you can't use the fairing lowers it just looks unfinished. A good effort, but doesn't do it for me.

With most bikes I have to measure to make sure the overall bar width will fit down the alley way in our terraced house.
With the CBX I doubt if the sodding engine would fit, especially with crash bars...

Could have knocked off another 0.5kg by swapping out that huge OE tail light - there are smaller ones straight off the classic Honda parts shelf that would workMr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 7:41 amReading the blurb it's got some proper big hitters in there, which I suppose you'd have to have to save that much. Upgraded the handling and brakes with modern components but its all about the visuals with the engine. Lose the bar end mirrors and also keeping the original tank and seat cowl makes it better in my opinion

Sounds quite like a Kawa triple on full chat. Triple combinations definitely have a special sound.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 11:14 pm Harry (of Harry's Garage fame) has one, With a six into six exhaust system. Listen here...
I'd still take the H2 first.
