Two stories on the BBC today....

Bollywood film being adapted for stage with a white actor -
https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-62437180

Hollywood film being adapted with South Asian cast -

Am I seeing some bias here?

PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - said "this is not a pie-in-the-sky request" in a letter sent to Leicester Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby.

We need to what sort of pie it isn't.

The Tower will be protected by the Nutroasteaters and York's The Shambles will be Ye Olde Petting Zoo. Heaven only knows what Lambs Conduits are but they can't be very nice.

Did you know, a long time ago there was a letter of the alphabet that looked like Y and was prounced "th". The correct proununciation of "ye" is "the".

'Twas a letter called 'thorn' in ye olde English and Norse (It crops up in cryptic crosswords a lot :D ). It looked a bit like a 'p' with the straight line going up as far as it does down according to Chambers dictionary....can't find one on this keyboard! I hadn't put the 2+2 about 'ye' together though.

The most isolated lighthouse in the world
Þrídrangaviti Lighthouse, perched atop a rock pillar in the Westman Islands, off the coast of Iceland, sits about forty meters above the raging Atlantic Ocean, was built in 1939.
That's the badger! That's what Chambers has as 'th' or 'thorn'. Them Icelanders are a bit Norse too. You're right though it's not very Y'ish. :D

I wouldn’t say that someone should be jailed every time a road traffic accident causes a death.

Interesting that it wasn’t the old lady herself who ran into the victim.

What is putting an old woman with dementia in prison going to do to prevent it happening again?
If you want a justice system based on revenge then there are other countries you could move to
