Sounds like the start of my covid, two days with a high temp feeling like crap and then another two weeks of bad cold.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:12 pm I'm down with some lurgy. Have moments where I feel fairly ok, but not many of them.
Got to go out though as we've no food in the house for tea!

I know loads of people who are down with Covid at the moment. Flu-like symptoms, upset stomach and the usual sore throat/cough. Done a test?weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:12 pm I'm down with some lurgy. Feels like random flu type thing. No, don't think a test brings anything to the discussion does it? If it's positive, what changes nowadays?gremlin wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:22 pmI know loads of people who are down with Covid at the moment. You're still supposed to isolate if you've got the 'rona.
You could argue - quite validly - you should be doing that with 'flu too really.

That'd be pretty much impossible as I can't go out and get a test lol.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:26 pm You're still supposed to isolate if you've got the 'rona.

Fitting an engine at a stearlership, even if the engine is free, will cost more than getting matey to fix it. The majority of that ~£3k is labour, even at non-stealership prices.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 3:55 pm I'd complain to BMW. Sometimes they do stuff like offer you a free engine, if you pay the fitting at a proper stealership, etc.. you never know your luck in a raffle.

Yeah, it's all academic now. In theory I could have travelled to Skiathos quite legitimately when I tested positive, but I felt so dog-rough that the thought of sitting on a 'plane and then going on the piss with a load of Mancunians was just too much for my weakened state.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:24 pmNo, don't think a test brings anything to the discussion does it? Bollocks to the idea of completely isolating though. I walked the dog, stayed away from people and was generally sensible.

Wear a mask, sanitize hands on the way in, try not to touch your face and do not lick the self-scan screen. As per my my last post, just be sensible.

Hmm...thinking about it I could probably get a curry and possibly a Chinese but not pizza or burgers delivered here. A couple of takeaway places within a couple of miles do their own deliveries but there's no Deliveroo etc. Pizza Express do a 'collect from' but I don't think they deliver.weeksy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:40 pmNot in the countryside.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:34 pmIt's rumoured that you can get food delivered to your front door too.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:30 pm

Jumped in the Vito, we had to make record time as it closes at 5 but the lad made it and I stayed in the van.

Re: A right now thread
Relaxing on a proper sofa in an actual house!! Balcony doors open, just to attempt to get some breeze through - tis is a smidge hotter down here than at home!
I've even been for a 'swim'!!! Ok, it's an above ground 'pool' - maybe 4 ft deep and maybe 5m long. My mate has a belt thingy that he puts on and then swims - it works!!
So, a little swim, some pool therapy exercises and now chilling on a real sofa!
Repeat swim and pool therapy in the morning before heading out!!
Oh, and waiting on the cat arriving home so I can feed it before I go to bed

We are n an area where you can still leave your door open. When its hot like today the front door is left open and a window in the opposite side of the house so you can feel the breeze flowing through. Its only about 24 now indoors but the breeze is nice. Plus the sun being at the other side of the house in the evening helps.

We can do that here. Downside is that, cos i had the balcony windows/doors open, the sodding cat, that I'm supposed to be keeping in for the night, has gone out! So I need to wait around or go out and look for the little sodFelix wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 7:37 pm

That is one of the reasons i put the cat flap in. Downside is in the morning you might get up and a neighbours car is tucking into the dry food thats left out for them or curled up on the sofa Buy aye, little shits
