Daughter is visiting, and I got dragged off to the pool. First time for about 2 years, but I managed 850m at a sedate pace that befits my age

Re: What have you done today thread?
Sorted some stuff at home, then a friend brought some of the stuff down to the valley for me, to the cat sit house! Riding the Monster downhill is not particularly comfortable, but at least going back up to resort is easier!
But for the next week I'll be based a bit above the valley at a lovely house - with a garden and a pool!!
Not quite secluded enough for an all over tan, but I'll be trying to get in the pool a couple of times a day just for physio on the arm/shoulder!!
Trouble is I'm really not interested in sorting out any food cos it's so darned hot! Quick food isn't particularly healthy food!!

Today properly babbed mesen
Most of the island its safe to go off road. But in the national park it's a big no no. Big fines.
Today I was taking our guests out to avoid the big digger.
Done the route many times and even our very own Couchy loved it.
Got stopped by a govt warden who looked angry. Shit.
He admitted the road was sort of legal. Phew.
But was more concerned about the dig being off his lead.
Double phew

Finally fitted a new relay holder and relay to my campervan about 3 years after being told that that was the cause of my intermittent AC. The AC now makes all the right noises! but it doesn't blow very cold

Re: What have you done today thread?
It's cool where Yorick is compared to the mainland. It's been the hottest July for 60 years, temperatures at the moment are 6 to 7 degrees above average for me, in some places it's 10 degrees hotter. The Med is 6 degrees above normal for this time of year. Just had a look at the forecast, this weekend Yorick should be 27 degrees, my bit of Alicante will be around 40 again. So yeah, it's definitely scorchio.
The beer might be cheap but there's no shortage of British and Dutch retirees with massive bellies from drinking it.

Started rebuilding my trailer, a bit of welding, new sides and lights, that sort of thing.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Only 30 ish here today, well up top.
I moved down to a village a bit above the valley for a week. Tis kinda nice (if a bit warm!).
Need to work out if I have to put the bubble wrap cover on the pool in the day or in the night (it's not something I can do very well, so once a day would be ideal but I'll be using the pool twice a day ).
But, Met a friend for lunch, spoke with the guy that wants me to work for him for the winter (we're meeting soon to sort that out), rode the monster to the cat sit house, a friend followed with a couple of bags for me!, chilled here, fussed the cat, used the pool and now relaxing!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Found this when I was sorting in the garage the other day. Bit nicer to wear down here in the valley under the 'roadproof' hoody than trying to wear textiles down here. Maybe!!
Garden of cat sit house - well a small bit of it. Nice shady table to sit at
And a bit of the pool from the balcony That was weirdly very warm

Re: What have you done today thread?
When it's not in use. The cover does 2 things other than keep leaves out, it prevents evaporation and cooling and it prevents UV rays breaking down the chlorine. I doubt they would bother putting it back on between uses on the same day. If they haven't done the chemicals properly it may not be the most sanitary place to be.Noggin wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 6:43 pm Only 30 ish here today, well up top.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Thank you. They told me/showed me all about chemicals n stuff and the filter, but have also said that they've done a filter run just before they left. It smells pretty cleaned!! LOL And looks clear with no 'mist' or anything. It'll only be me using it, so I'll probably risk it (There's a block of chemicals in a 'grate' at the edge of the pool too)Mussels wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 7:12 pmWhen it's not in use. Ideally I plan to use it in the morning and evening, but would prefer not to put the cover back on in between, so just put it on over night maybe?!

Re: What have you done today thread?
It's the Spanish Met Office and works well for the mainland. They probably cant be bothered doing a proper forecast for Mauritania or wherever it is you live.Yorick wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 6:31 pmWe never believe that site.
