When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Skye dried up very nicely
Skye is awesome. Fast, bendy roads which are mostly well surfaced, not much traffic and stunning scenery. If you haven't been, go. Try to go when it's dry and sunny, with a bit of wind to keep the midges away - I'll think that gives you a choice of 3 days a year, and today was one of them

That's almost as far as the bike's been in the last 4 years? Did you warn it?

Yes, all the way from Invergarry. I found the most expensive petrol in the world (maybe) in Shiel Bridge - 139.9p. The fuel light had been on for 30 miles by then so I had no choice really

Did you spot it in the end? There's not enough resolution to see it clearly. Its in the car park on the left up against the fence - behind the white car. You can see the shadow it is casting more than the bike.

I had to take daughter to work today,as she stacked her car (again ) Up at 5am ffs,it's a long time since I've seen stupid o'clock.
The car was showing 4 degrees with the frosty symbol...in bloody August?
Anyway,I don't usually ride the bike on a Sunday,as the roads are clogged with all the nuisances of the day,but I was back at 7.30,so I thought I'd get an early run in,while the bastrids were still sleeping.
Thermal lining in jacket, thermal long johns and vest and for the first hour or so I was well glad of them. It's great to be able to stick your cold digits on a lovely warm engine too,I haven't had an unfaired bike for years,a bonus feature in our frozen wastelands. If this global warming continues,I'll need to consider heated grips for future Summers.
Punched in about 3 hours riding and it even warmed up a bit heading home. Just in time to see all the convoys going the other direction.
Gloves heating in Ballycastle, looking out to Ratlin Island.

Today I rode to Applecross. The road over the mountain is called the Bealach na Bà, about 12 miles of twisting, poorly surfaced single track road that rises from sea level to 2000 ft and back down again. The view from the top is spectacular but today's weather spoiled it a bit
A few miles up the road from Applecross it brightened up a bit, this is looking out towards Rassay and Skye
I followed the coast road, it's all single track and quite poorly surfaced in places so not a road for fast riding. The scenery makes up for it though

Aye the little bastards were out on force on the west coast today. Damp and flat calm, just how they like it. No sign of them in Inverness thankfully
