Silverstone, 5-6-7 August MotoGP

Post by weeksy »

Just booked the Friday for me and the lad. It's only £20 for adults and £10 for U16.

Anyone else fancy a day out?

I usually go on the Friday - prefer watching the race itself on the TV. I did have something else arranged for this Friday but it's been cancelled so might call in if the weather's sensible.

Thinking about it, always enjoy the Friday free practice, nice and quite usually.
£20 is a bargain, losing a days money to go makes it less of a bargain 😂
Will give you a shout later in the week if we can make it.

So GPs are back then this weekend... just a couple of days to see if the break has brought any developments or even some rustiness from riders !!!

You all are ? That's awesome !!!!

Obviously we're only there for Friday practice, not the rest of the weekend. I'll setup a Whatsapp a bit later today. :banana-wrench:

Gutted to miss it for two reasons. One - working so I can't see the racing. Two - I'd always drop in on a couple of friends and have a good old catch up with them whenever I'm at Silverstone. But their daughter died last week and none of us are feeling good about meeting right now. Kind of put a spanner right through the spokes.

It'll be hard to look past Fabio again. Might suit the Aprilia too.

In a 'normal' race I'd agree, but Fabio has to serve a long lap penalty early in the race. He will probably podium, but I'd favour Asparagus the Elder for tthe win...

Heh. I forgot all about that. I wonder will he give us a show anyway.

I'm sure he will. I'm a bit conflicted, as I'd like both Aleix and Fabio to win the WC. But as Fabio already has one under his belt and this is the absolute best chance Aleix will ever get, I think I'll be rooting for Aleix.

I was looking at trying to get across for Friday practise but just got way too much to do here getting the house i bought ready to rent out hopefully in the next 2 weeks.

I had hoped to blag a day off but spent today fitting radiators and now working tomorrow with the youngest who is an electrician changing the consumer box and doing a shit load of rewiring to get them working properly from the standard power supply rather than the economy7 supply. oh yeah, and painting the final rooms, building a bath framework, fixing laminate thats been damaged as well as skirting boards and thats before i even tackle the garden :( :(

Enjoy the weekend gents

@Bigyin , ha! sounds like my regular weekends since our youngest bought his first house, always thought we’d have more free time once the buggers left home !!!
Managed to get off work today though, so heading up there for a few hours to see what these newfangled 4stroke GP bikes are all about, it’s been a while since we last went😂

Bugger, I've got to drive past Silverstone on the A43 Saturday and then again on Sunday, do the close the roads and make them one way like they do for the F1?
