Rubbin is racin..... where are you on it ?

Post by weeksy »

Toprak or Redding ?

https://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/1009333 ... tt-redding

https://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/1008979 ... ty-reasons

Who's side of the coin are you falling towards....

Toprak seems to think a bit of tight passing is part of the game.... Scotty wants it a bit safer.

Toprak's, the move wasn't that aggressive, and I'm sure Scott has made just as aggressive passes at some point in his racing career.

I can understand Redding's concern. The aggressive Sofoglu style of riding, which he has instilled in all the prominent Turkish riders, takes the rules to the edge of acceptability and sometimes over. We all want to see close racing and when the plan works it's great.

The risks are obvious and if a rider gets hurt when the turks use hard tactics, then the story may take another turn.

Toprak rides hard, but he's a much cleaner rider than his mentor and/or the Oncu brothers. I don't think he did anything wrong in this instance.

That particular pass of Toprak's was more than a bit speculative and actually a bit dumb. It was launched from way back and he never really stood a chance of making the pass cleanly. When you push your opponent off track it's time to admit that you made a mistake. But for the most part I'm fine with the way Toprak rides; Johnny Rea can be just as wild and leery on his day.

I think Alvaro’s take on it sums it up for me, what he says with regards to JR and Toprak, he’s got it right. Some of JR’s overtakes and rear end collisions and near collisions are common place now.

9 times out of 10 Toprak’s passes are as clean as you like which boggles the mind because he’s doing it at times from a mile back.

My opinion is stop fucking moaning and get on with it. Unless it’s a blatantly obvious fuck up which takes you down or whatever then pipe the fuck down.

In which case you need to apply that PoV to all riders, and not just Toprak. So no more snarky comments about JR's moves that you disapprove of, then?

I don’t disapprove of them and never have. The only move I got invested in was the one at Assen and that was purely because of people blaming Toprak.

Also, my statement is with regards to them moaning and whinging with each other.

It’s racing, that’s what happens, when I was racing I got blootered many times and blootered others, but just for the record JR is a cunt and I will whinge about him if I want to 👀

OK, that makes it clear. You're a Toprak fanboi and a JR hater. Glad we got that straight.

I know where the fuck you been

Also why are you going on about me and what my opinion is? Don’t make it personal or fuck all like that, my post didn’t have a dig at you or anyone else other than what the original post was aimed at. Does my tits in when folk do that and when it gets ugly they start whinging, bit like Redding I suppose.

Mate, when you post your opinion, other people react to that opinion. It's what happens on forums. I'm not the one making it personal, you were when you said JR is a cunt. Now that's cool - I don't have a problem with your opinion. I just watch the racing and enjoy it. All I'm saying is that when you offer an opinion on Toprak vs. JR, that no-one should expect it to be an unbiased one. No need to get all antsy about it.

My first comment is literally repeating what Alvaro said so it’s not as if I’m personally attacking him because I dislike him, it is exactly as I see it, an unbiased point of view, if Toprak was in the wrong with anything that JR is part of then I’d happily admit to it, I always say it as I see it.

Not entirely sure what you’re taking from that first comment but you did make it about my opinion with your reply.

Imo, (not that it matters) is if you come from that far back, nerf someone off track and miss the apex, you fucked up!
Perhaps Weeksy's ban hammer could be used to temper their enthusiasm.

he sent him over the rumble strips and onto the track limit area, it was a VERY hard pass at those speeds.
But, as anyone who has raced knows, you're all going for the same foot of tarmac.
