Maybe better going for an aftermarket seat maker,sometimes a specialist will be more thorough.

I have a Bagster seat on mine,a French company. My arse was uncomfortable after 90 miles or so with the stock seat,but I've been 4 hours sat on the Bagster with no sore arse. It's just everything else needs a break after that. :lol:

You are missing trick there bother Weeks. Maybe it's because of recent events when I've been tied to my phone and may need to be somewhere at the drop of a hat,but I love just heading off on the bike and I'll be back when I'm tired riding. No rush,no fuss,just me,the bike and the road going nowhere in particular. :thumbup: Some days I realise I haven't even eaten anything that day!

LOL sounds like the comfort seats i've tried :D even the MT07 one.... it was different and softer, but nice/right, i'm not convinced.
Thinking back, I bought a Mustang seat for my Harley which wasn't exactly cheap, but I was assured was the best buy. Thought it was hard as a rock initially, but then I could ride for hours with no discomfort? My F800 was similar. The MT07 one I didn't really have long enough to summarise, but it did give me more leg room which I needed on that. I don't need more leg room on the 09 as I'm not suffering there, but it is ore comfortable for it. I guess I#ll know by the time I get home if its working or not but hopefully it'll "bed in" over the next week or so?

Those sort of days come with pedals for me mate... a motorbike is more a 'thing to get to a place' rather than a removal of brain for a few hours. If i want to remove the brain and take in the world, it's not with an engine for me.

That i guess is why @Taipan has done more miles on his new bike in 2 weeks than i've done on mine in 2 months.

I've still only done 400 miles on mine.

I did weigh it up based on other 09 riders opinions. The SHad is arguably more comfortable, but the OEM one seems to suit taller riders such as moi? No big deal anyway as if the OEM one doesn't work out it'll be ebay'ed and a Shad bought!

This I totally understand. My metal will be coming out next year partly for that reason (although I'd hope I'd have the option of a metal knee before the amputation, but with my luck :roll: ) - but - I won't stop skiing or biking, I will find a support that will help prevent a twist fracture when skiing and will take my chances on the bike

TBF - you are less likely to crash at Pembrey in novice than on the road. So it would be worth going for the social, having a look and maybe having a go another time. Honestly, the damage I've done on track is minimal compared to the road x

Seat is getting comfortable, or at least hurting less, so I think that's going to be a win?

Another plus was I found my ankle-high Alpinestars boots last night. Quickshifter is a different story when wearing these over mesh trainers. Much more positive change. Still feels sort of odd to change gear like that though, but with the BW pipe on, it has a lovely little back burble as it changes! I hope everyone in the Limehouse Link tunnel appreciated my efforts this morning! :D

I'd keep the one on the tank cowl,at least. The bike may look a bit drab otherwise.

I am a bit Henry Ford when it comes to colour schemes! :D S'funny, I liked them at first, then hated them, now I don't even really notice them, which is probably why they're still on there. Looking at the picture it does make me want to remove the wheel and swinging arm ones though...

Yeah it's the wheel/swing arm jobbies that look OTT. The cowl ones are fine I think.

Had a quick read up on teh forums about suspension set up. Seems most people pretty much max out preload and crank up comp/rebound damping and the bak it of a click/turn or two. Thought I might as well try it. Rode it in today and noticed it straightaway. Isn't adjustable suspension nice! :D

That would suggest too light a spring. What does your static and loaded sag look like?

No idea! The bike will undoubtedly be under sprung for me, but I thought I'd adjust what I could to see if it made a difference? I might even get it resprung to suit at some point?

I have concluded out of all the bikes I've owned since I started riding, this is my favourite! It's comfortable, fast, nimble and even quite economical. There is nothing about this bike that is wrong for me. It continues to impress me every time I ride it. :thumbup:
