IMHO the engine looks far too modern for the style of bike.
I'm sure Cheesy will be along to tell us the SWM engine is a 90's Husky engine made from chinese monkey metal or something.

Where's the rest of it? If I wanted something to see through, I'd buy a window.

So you'd rather have windows than a mac?mangocrazy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 7:03 pm Where's the rest of it? If I wanted something to see through, I'd buy a window.

Trying to convert to Linux and wean myself off Winders. I don't do anything Apple (apart from the ones that grow on trees).

Re: Mac Ruby
I'm sure it could be made to look finished, but probably even then I'd be quite indifferent.
No one has liked it so far,so cheesy probably will.

Well it is, but the Italian ones were hardly good quality, but it's a fun engine when it's workingKungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 6:54 pm I'm sure Cheesy will be along to tell us the SWM engine is a 90's Husky engine made from chinese monkey metal or something.
As for the bike, I nearly like the styling, the tank is a bit too humpy for my taste, if you put LC replica bodywork on it that would be perfect

Re: Mac Ruby
I don't hate but suspect it will be priced with a healthy dose of hipster tax.
The radiator needs to be taller and fit between the frame rails though and could they make the headlight bowl a little shallower and put some bloody side panels on it oh and those exhaust hangers look mahoosive - maybe better if black......
Oh and why paint the top engine cover red - proper clashes does that

Re: Mac Ruby
I quite like the concept (new bike but retro style), but the overall thing looks empty and half finished. Way too much empty space, red engine top, radiator, and huge filter all grate.

I suspect that's how they come from the factory. All the CCM Spitfires are the same too.

Re: Mac Ruby
Yeah I think if you're going to bother to build a factory retro classic you need to put more effort into the selection of bin parts you're going to use. That motor just shouts industrial ditch pump - which would be ok if the bike was something more angular or more workmanlike.

Re: Mac Ruby
I don't mind the look of that motor, they should have designed the bodywork & zorst to compliment the look of the motor but they've made it look totally out of place. the headlight and the Zorst hangers are a total failure.DefTrap wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 2:35 pm Yeah I think if you're going to bother to build a factory retro classic you need to put more effort into the selection of bin parts you're going to use. It doesn't quote the weight of the bike but you'd want it sub 150kg with all that fresh air on it
