There is no other car that looks remotely like a Lancia Stratos. Imagine the effect it had when released in the early 70s. It looked like it had been beamed in from another planet.

MAT Stratos, based on a Ferrari F430 underneath. Sacrilege to some, but I would.

I like the idea of building a kit car but not owning one, I'd love that as it beats a Ford Cortina as a donor vehicle.

Yes an 'updated' copy of the original. I'd be perfectly happy with a kit car replica of the original, but prices (even for the kit cars) have exploded in the last 10 years.

Piggy backed a socket to get power into the staircase behind the wall. Lost my Bolster chisel to plant the cable into the plaster so cables is just pinned back looking shit till my new one arrives. Cut half the lawn then out first rain in weeks started, Fuck it. There was something refreshing about cutting grass in the rain  Collected all teh parts i bought two years ago to get the swamp bike back on the road. Now they are all in one place with the paddock stands so i have less excuses to get it done.

I had a mate over who texted me with, "back brake piston fell out.... no brakes"

Sorted that...

As we were in there a new person who'd moved into the close walks over with his 5-6 year olds brand new bike
"are you into bikes, i can't get this wheel to work"....

Sorted that....

20 mins later my lads mate turns up with no brakes, no rear wheel working...

Sorted most of that.. but failed on one part which was a shame.. but even after re-taping his wheel i still couldn't get it to hold pressure.

And could you regrout our bathroom please, having realised this as I was applying the silicone sealant remover to the shower tray. Have I said how much I hate DIY?

Today was the start of our Spark in the Park holiday afternoons. Very well attended, hundreds coming to enjoy bouncy castles, under fives play area, art and crafts and more. So good to be able to give back to the community. We had sumo wrestling suits which were a huge hit with all ages.

Just doing the Compline service at 9pm and then bed for me, rinse and repeat tomorrow!

First leg/knee physio with my lovely kiné up here - he was kinder than I'd expected!! LOL

Then, this -

I'm still grinning like a bloody loony!

Bit of faffing to get her started but she's been sat for 8 months and my friend said that when he tried in April, the engine turned but wouldn't fire. Had the same issue this afternoon. I lifted the tank with a random view of looking at/for 'something' and the fuel line came off!!!

So that was interesting cos, whilst my mate rides bikes, he is even less mechanicky than me!! So, held the tank and fuel line while he went to get the relevant screwdriver. Then I managed to get the jubilee clip back in place and tight - albeit with about 2 months wages of fuel on the floor :( :( :( After that, she fired up straight away :D :D Airlock? Some of the fuel spill went into the carbs?

I only rode about 1km but all very comfortable. She needs some TLC cos she's not ticking over well, but after 8 months, I'm just glad she runs!!

It was raining while I was down there, so I got a lift home. I know I can ride in the rain but I'd rather my first bimble (all of 10kms to get back up here) was on dry roads, not ones that have a smear of rain on top of all that spilt diesel etc!!! I don't think I'm nervous but just thought it was sensible!!

:o :o :o :o Get me, being sensible!! LOL LOL

Roll on tomorrow afternoon :D :D

Oh, then I cooked an actual meal for myself tonight instead of salad and tinned stuff - well, it was pre packed free duck from a chalet added to mushrooms and made into chow mein :D :D :D

It was the other day, but I rang Sky to see what was involved to get another router. Nice Lady said nothing if you're prepared to recontract for another 18 months and I can get you better broadband and save you some money too. Then she added looking at your TV package its the same timings as your broadband, so if you recontract that as well, you can get a free SkyQ box and I can change your package to something or other. So I got a new router, faster broadband and a new Sky box and I'm £8 a month better off! So why do I think I've been had? :D

How much have you committed to giving them over the next 18 months?

Strolled up and then down Pitch Hill and had a legendary Peaslake cheese straw (+ cuppa T) as a reward. :D

Saw 4 MTBers and about the same dog walkers (but rather more dogs, the most was 5 dogs/1 walker).

By my calorie calculations 1 of their cheese straws = 9000 steps and 500ft climb.

Keep this up and I'll either be fit as a flea or in the queue with Pietin for new knees.

Nice up there though, just the right temperature.

I went and got the Monster and rode it back to mine!! Well, I went past the garage up here and a bit further up to look at the view!! LOL

She was running horribly to start but she seemed to have smoothed out a bit by the time I got to the garage :D Need to get a can of fuel as I have no idea how much is left in the tank

Chilling for a bit then heading to my friends bar to watch some football game! :D

Riding a bike does seriously make me happy, but it seems I don't have a problem with my shoulder for the short distance so far, but the bad knee is the gear change knee and I suspect that it's the gear change that has made my knee hurt :( :( Hey ho - got four weeks to solve that before I HAVE to ride!! LOL

Awesome vista. The roads look like a trail bike would be a cool thing to own.
