And the LH cylinder is only a mm away from grounding. But he's so 'ard he'd save it on his knee...

I've no idea if you've touched an oil head down, but the few times I did it, it just pushes the front.
If you're on the limit, that's a problem, but generally you go 'oh sh.....' roll off the throttle, load the front tyre again, unclench your ring piece and carry on.

No, the only Beemer flat twin I've ridden was a vile, horrible, gutless mid-80s R45 which inspired zero confidence. So no, I have no knowledge or experience of riding one of those anywhere remotely near the limit...
