There was the Malaguti version too.
I remember a tool around my way had one with two flags tied to the mirrors. I saw him chase two girls along a footpath because they laughed at him. I think the bike struggled to catch them on foot.

Looks like the extras who failed to make the cut for Quadraphenia!

Not everyone’s cup of tea but valued at £4-6 k.
Gotta go for a bit more than that at the sale surely.

That's a real oddity. Nico Bakker frame and swingarm, PVM forged ali wheels (both good), but then Tokico calipers (why not Brembo?), what looks to be a Sachs shock (both middlin/mediocre) and no chain, various bolts loose or missing and a general air of unfinished-ness. Could be a real find, could be a money-pit.

Sachs make some very good shocks, but they're bloody expensive.

The ones I've come across (on Aprilias mainly) have been OK-ish but nothing special. John at Revs hates them, doesn't have a good word to say about them and wil try to avoid working on them if at all possible. But I guess it's all a question of what the OEM can get away with in specifying down to a price.

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
I watched a prog about this bike being built for a well known person. But the sad thing is that he can't ride it legally on the road.
Guess who?

I remember reading about this a couple of years ago so I know the answer - won't say as it'd be cheating. Does he not have a road licence
then?

Re: interesting bikes found randomly..
French company, they had a stand at the NEC in what must have been a long while back and I spent ages looking at them. I have no idea why but I really like some of the Avinton's. Not keen on that one or my tastes have changed. At the time I really liked (actually still do) the MT 01 and the Avinton is a similar sort of concept.ChrisW wrote: ↑Wed Jul 20, 2022 2:32 pm I'd never heard of these before...
