The S1000rr’s are renowned for it which you feel badly through the bars which you can solve from a riders point of view by fitting heavier bar ends, sadly it doesn’t solve the issue with mounting the camera via the top yoke.

No it’s part of the sport dash, you can select it regardless of what riding mode you are in, I’ll do a quick video showing this.

Every time you switch the bike on it goes to what they call the pure riding screen, this is the default setting. From there you press down on the menu and then select sport and then when in there you have 3 screens to choose from. You press the multifunction switch to the right to select the other displays and left to go back and then up on menu to come out of there to go back to the pure screen.

When you go into sport when you select the second screen you have the lap timer function, once you’ve started the lap timer you can go back to the pure screen and even though the timer is no longer displayed it will still record laps etc, you just don’t see it and need to go back into that display to see it, quite good if you don’t want to be preoccupied with your lap times.

That’s the traction control light flashing. You’ll see to the left side of the display there is the DTC torque reduction graph, that’s the intervention and how much it cuts power in %, sometimes that lights up but not enough to cause the traction lift to flash.

When you think about it, a bike that'll want to spin up at over 100 on a dry road, with some of the best suspension money can buy, is absolutely bloody awesome.

In fact, the screen and TFT connection etc is better, more functions on my scooter than my 1250RS I have in work!! It's just a smaller engine, smaller wheels, crapper suspension........

When using the lap timer it’ll give you x amount of information for each lap, this can only be used in Ride Mode Pro. In the other modes when connected to the phone you can get similar information through the phone app.

I however have the BMW gps lap trigger and 2D data logger fitted which gives you the full shebang, it also means the lap timer works via gps meaning you don’t have to manually trigger it every lap via the flasher.
