Re: What have you done today thread?
took the lad up town to see the brother and sister in law, went for brunch, walked round St James park, absorbed some sun, had my first drink in a few months (Bloody Mary and an espresso martini)

Re: What have you done today thread?
Tidied up the house, sorted the holiday let for the guests arriving end of the week then left to drive to our own holiday
Arrived mid afternoon at a lovely lake near Leek in the Peak District to our place for the next few days. I think we will cope with the view and I have a canoe and rowing boat to play in on the lake. Couple of glasses of wine chilling after the drive so no canoe this evening. Might be a soak in the hot tub instead

Been out all day playing. 250 miles, at least 1/2 of it on twisties. I'm knackered, but happy.

Me and Mrs Gremlin took her dad to IWM Duxford for his birthday.
Bugger me, it's impressive. Everything a museum should be.*
*My only gripe was the lack of cakes on offer in the cafe.

Went to an aquatic plant place and bought some floating planters and plants to go in them. The pond will have îles flottants (Trying to get a fast bit of surface cover to reduce evaporation losses).

That's good to hear. A few years back I went to the IWM in Salford. It was everything a museum shouldn't be.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Did some IT work at the church office, rolled out Office 365 which we get for free from Microsoft as we are a charity. Rather nice of them.
Then did a home visit, Holy Communion and then to hospital to visit someone on their death bed. Gave them Last Rites and absolution. Anointed and prayed with them. Visited his wife on the way home and stayed with her for three hours and listened to her story. Nothing like waking with people in their time of need. Took her laptop home to fix it and get it sorted so she can use it again. Quick OS rebuild and all sorted.
Dished up roasted potatoes for the family dinner and now I'm heading to sleep!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just got back to the hospital (well, about half an hour ago!) and had to go apologise to the nurses. Seems I forgot to tell them I was going to friends for lunch and the nurse in charge today was worried about me. I'd left my phone in my friends house whilst we sat out in the garden so didn't get her calls or voicemail until two hours after she first called!! Oops!
I did go to friends to make some cake to share with people here, so I was able to give the nurses some cake as an apology!! LOL

Re: What have you done today thread?
Somebody wasted perfectly good drinking water making that. Comedy beers.
As the brewery name is an insult they must sit there in Hong Kong thinking 'What can we sell the white, western suckers next?'

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've been around the block enough times to know a few derogatory terms, so I was quite surprised to see it sat there on the shelf. I do wonder when they'll be bring out their 'Joe Daki ' stout or 'Greasy Wop' lager....Count Steer wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 6:57 pmSomebody wasted perfectly good drinking water making that. I might take to social media to express my outrage....
Oh wait, I've just realised I can't be bothered. I'll just not buy it again as it's both derogatory and fucking disgusting to drink. Mostly because it's disgusting, mind.

Please tell me you didn't pay for that in the first place? What sort of idiot sees a can of peanut butter and raspberry jam pale ale and thinks "that's a flavour combination I'd like in a beer". Fair enough if you got it last years office secret Santa, but to actually spend real proper money on it for yourself, ffs.

It's an intriguing flavour for sure, I'd have a swig.
