"One of my IAM buddies has just posted this, the mother of all punctures caused by a vaping tube on one of his pupils bike".

The biggest foreign body I have ever seen followed by the biggest emergency repair attempt.

It looks like someone's been at it with a 25mm holesaw... How the F*** did that get in there? Are vaping tubes really that tough and chunky?

Traditionally, the front wheel 'stands up' the object reasy for the rear to arrive on scene.

My 'best' was a 2" steel pin.

Apparently he had the bike recovered,but the tyre still had pressure when he got home.

I daresay it wouldn't have lasted long if ridden.

Got a puncture in sidewall driving over lava. Couldn't get wheel off so had to drive about 2 miles to get a phone signal.
Was front tyre so put it in 4wd to spread the load.

By coincidence, yesterday's training session was brought to a halt by a puncture. It was a gash around 3cm long so I'm guessing a piece of metal.

We didn't bother attempting to fix it, just called the recovery truck.
