I've just remembered that I bought an ABBA stand for my MT-07 which is still unopened in its box in the loft-of-plenty! Its got an MT-07 adaptor kit in there too, which I don't suppose will fit? I might ride up to ABBAs on Friday to see if they'll swap the adaptor kit for an MT-09 one...

Nice work! As you know an MT09 was near the top of my list till I tried the mighty GSX. I found A mode too twitchy for me when I test rode one, didn't help it was 3C and salt everywhere. Mini roundabouts were awful with the thing pogoing back and forth so i put it in B, didn't notice any delay in the test bike in B.
We can meet up on the Essex coast somewhere now and rescue migrants boats and as an added bonus we'll have space for a full picnic for when we get there

I thought I'd try it today and I have to admit, its handy to sling your lid in and put my lunch in and saves having to wear back pack. That's the reason I have one, for me bikes are more about the riding than the looks and I can't see the big ugly box when I'm out so don't care. Throw shit in, close the lid, ride off.

I have read these bikes have soft suspenion and being on the heavier side of fat, I was expecting it to be bouncing about, but not so? I saw it's adjustable on the top of the forks and they look to be at different settings? I'll read the manual later and put everything to standard I think?

Ubiquitous black-backed 8x6 reg plate winging its way to me. Just looking at exhausts now. Think I'm edging towards a stumpy type, but fook me, aren't full systems expensive nowadays!

A mode on my 18 tracer was very twitchy at low speeds, any bump in the road and it would power up. Standard was best on the road. B mode was a waste of time. Imo.

A flash will sort that dead throttle fuel cut/eco bollox. Well worth the money,it gives the bike a smooth sweet throttle from closed to open.

Some places do a generic flash for specific models,which seems to work ok. Others insist on a few hours on the dyno for a custom map.

I sent my F800Rs ECU to Motorune in Dublin for an ECU reflash with a generic map. Worked out really well.
The B mode/map on this is supposed to be like it is. Its a softer throttle response, which I imagine would be good in wet conditions, but I just find it vague. STD mode is better for me round town I think.

I used this guy after lots of recommendations including from @Demannu on here. Worked a treat.
@Deadpool2 rode mine too and preferred it.... @Supermofo rode it but didn't have a stock one to compare to of course.

First tankful used and it returned 55mpg! Quite impressed that, but traffic has been a bit of a mare, so I think when I get a chance to be more enthusiastic, it'll drop a bit, not that it matters though.
Seat is still literally a pain in the arse, but I've not done 150 miles yet, so I'll stick with it for now. I have noticed my palms and wrists are feeling the more prone riding position. Again, I think its just a case of getting used to it, but there's always bar risers if I need them?
Normally its the first few days with a bike I get the doubts creeping in, but I'm not getting those vibes with this bike (yet?). It's probably down to the simply amazing engine! Probably underpowered to a lot of you, but this is the fastest thing I've ridden in years and the mid range grunt is amazing and addictive!

When riding it I keep thinking of the line from M&R's Thrift shop!

Yeah those 900 triples have great midrange punch, seem to have just what you want, where you want it. I was worried about that aspect having ridden an XSR, MT09 and Tracer 9 and thinking I'd lose it going to an IL4 but I think a combination of monster engine and gearing means the GSX feels very similar to me to the triple in the midrange. Which is a very good thing in a roadbike. Yamaha did good

My old Blade was a bit flat in the low/mid range, but my ZX9 had great midrange. This feels on another level, but I'm probably just out of touch! I have to watch myself though, as I blatted away from the lights the other day and glanced down to see I was in 3 figures.
Been looking at exhausts and think I'm set on a Black Widow. They get good reviews on their sound. But, the 300mm can is quieter and would probably suit me better, but I prefer the looks of the shorter can! Decisions decisions...
