Re: Recommend me an Enduro Bike
Well in the usual 'recommend what you have' i'll throw in the Specialized Status 160, you'll be wanting an S5.

This sort of thing.... £2000 is about ball-park for a decent used one. They're mullet as you may be aware. The DPX2 is a lovely squishy thing and the Fox 36s on these are ace. (dunno about 38s, but they're supposed to be superb)
TBH you'd do incredibly well to beat this spec/price.

Obviously after that, you're looking things like a Nukeproof Mega.

Speccy Enduro, Trek Slash. Though watch the Speccy as the trunnion linkage can eat air shocks if the suspension bearings aren’t swapped out regularly.

Re: Recommend me an Enduro Bike
Yeah - I realise that I should have said "MTB".
I am not a great fan of Specialized (all the people I went with were - other than the man with the 16 year old Iron Horse 'On Any Sunday" , who seemed to be 4th fasted down everything, and 74). Specialized always have to have special fittings - such as the Trunion mount etc.
And as 85% of the Brits over there must have been from the Surrey Hills Chapter - it was like the Santa Cruz Owners Group ride - I don't want one of them!
Other option would be a frame and then the BFe can become the donor.
Also - not a press fit BB

There is also an XL Privateer 161 on there - but over the target price (but ....)
Anyone ever ridden one?

Re: Recommend me an Enduro Bike
THe Status is 'standard' not anything propriatary. It's also modern technology, 2020, 12 speed etc... So nothing is older school. On your budget you'll be looking at a 17 of anything else.Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 9:26 amYeah - I realise that I should have said "MTB".

I 100% get the Santa Cruz thing and people love them, because they're exceptionally pretty things... but they're incredibly expensive for what you get with them.
