before I gave the missus a call to say I'm home safely, it got a bit 'spirited' on the way back from the airport!
On the bright side I now know it only takes 40 mins to the airport.........solo!
Had to wait 15 minutes....

Re: Had to wait 15 minutes....
I did that once on my way to work. Usually look about 45 mins by bike and over an hour in the car. One morning I got to work and thought bugger me I did that in 30 mins inc walking upstairs and kitting off.
I might have been doing 120mph down the A1 Funny thing was I was thinking why is everyone in my way, until I looked at the Speedo

I race my satnav when I'm on my own. If I'm doing a long distance I try to make up the time I need for breaks - if the arrival time starts off at 3pm, I get it down to 2.45pm before stopping for a 15 minute break - it's just a game and I lose it regularly because I end up stopping longer than planned.

I regard Sat Nav ETA as a challenge to be beaten, even if held up in traffic in the car. I have to make it back up if at all possible.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 2:42 pm I race my satnav when I'm on my own. I once slept in for a channel tunnel crossing and looked at the ETA which was going to put me about 45 minutes after meeting a mate there for departure. First time the fuel light had ever come on riding the little 636 at Stanstead services instead of Dartford. Might have been due to being in as full tuck with a tank bag and holding it about 140 the whole way with Oxford panniers on the back
I have done a run back from Eurotunnel to home on a sunday evening on the Multi that showed an average of 105 mph including a fuel stop/swap to clear visor half way over the 180 ish miles
