Yamaha live - another one for the collection!

Post by wull »

I purchased an original pencil drawing by Emma Oakley Art last year after Toprak had won the championship in Mandalika, I have a collection of signed one off pictures etc which I always try to get signed by both the artist/photographer and rider. So the plan was to get this one signed by Toprak at the WSBK round at Donington this year but when I seen the Yamaha live day being mentioned at Crescent Yamaha Verwood I decided “fuck it”……..and a round trip of 960 miles later this is the end result 😁

Over the moon with it, it was a cracking day, well worth the journey. Just need to get it framed and put up in pride of place.

Awesome.

I never liked asking folk for autographs, but I do admit to having Sheene and Doohan. Tommy Robb sent me a signed copy of his book,a real gentleman.

At one of the Stafford Classic bike shows when Eddie Lawson was the star guest I took along two B/W 16" x 12" prints of a photo I took of the great man at Silverstone in 1985, one for me, one for Eddie. He seemed genuinely pleased with the photo and I got his signature on one of my photos. It's still in its cardboard tube but will get framed and put on the wall at some point.

I met Doohan a few years back and asked for a picture with him, not interested in autographs other than like above where it’s on pictures, photos etc.

I’m made up with how it’s turned out, not entirely sure this will be it’s final place, I think I’ll have to rearrange the pictures in the living room which the wife will love 😂

Nicely framed that. I do like a double mount. :D

That’s the way the majority of my collection is done, I think there’s 3 that isn’t. I’ll get them redone at some point.
