What's left for you to tick off ?

Post by weeksy »

It could be a bike, it could be a trip, it could be ... i dunno, a type of riding discipline

Mine is probably a 200+bhp sportsbike on a track... Something fancy with fangled electronics and all the rider aids.

Somewhere like Portimao would be exceptional !

From a motorbike ownership perspective, i've ticked the big box there, the 690smcr was that bike and still is... Longer term, i could see a XSR900 again, but potentially a modern one with the QS/Blipper etc. But the 690smcr really was/is the 'holy grail'

Multistrada Enduro, I could have bought one recently instead of the GS, but I couldn't find one in the right colour at the right price and miles, the BMW ticked more boxes for now.

Himalayan (or pretty much any nice bit of India) bike tour on an auld Enfield.

Laguna Seca... on anything.

The trouble for me is all the bikes I'd like to own aren't very nice to ride, and I've got enough two wheeled ornaments.

Well, I'm only 18 months into riding so I guess my list is getting longer. Let's see how Pembrey goes.... I might find trackdays really good and buy something for that.

Other than that in no particular order:

- More training
- Tour of UK/Ireland
- Tour in Europe
- Some offroading, MX or adventure bikes, even if it's just a day experience

Touring will require a very different bike to what I have now, so maybe owning 2 bikes down the line.

Oh, and maybe a bike that is actually new to me, not with multiple POs.

Nothing, if something comes up that I fancy I'll go for it, but no plans or aspirations

Well I thought I should always own a GSXR at some point and the GSXS is close enough for me.

Not had a Ducati so that's one.

Other than that another Euro tour would be good. Not done it since 2002! Can't see it happening again for a long while yet though

I go with the flow these day, rather than chasing dreams. Having said that and in the spirit of the thread,I'd like to own a nice Kawasaki triple for a while at some stage.

A ZH2 may also be on the list and perhaps would have happened already, except for the fact I enjoy my own Zed so much.

With the triple idea,I tell myself I have no room for another bike that will basically be an ornament and re the ZH2, I ask myself wtf do you want a 200bhp naked at your age,ya plum.

A few bikes that I sometimes think of buying;

900 Monster
CCM R30
RD250/400 250/350LC
Kawasaki Z something or other

I've got itchy eBay fingers too. This is because I'm really happy with my current bike and have no plans to sell it, which also means I#m bored of not having something new coming in! :?

Nope, it's a proper muscle bike and rather than the MT-10 which is the bastard offspring of a drunken one night stand by bumblebee & Optimus Prime

With my motorcycling I've still got a few ambitions, but I'm glad to say that I''ve done the main objectives I once had.
Places i still want to ride to, Nordkapp,Morocco, Stella Alpina rally, been meaning to get around to this since 1982 :wtf: ,Spa bikers classics.
Wouldn't mind revisiting Le Mans for the 24hrs,I went there in 1986,it's overdue a return visit.
No new bikes appeal, but only this morning I mentioned that I would love to get a 350LC,however the prices are just daft money
