Are you more 'chasing classic cars' or more fast n loud?

Are you more the "throw in a bike V8 hemi, wide wheels and drop it" or "this has to be a 100 point car the win at pebble beach" ?

I'm very much a keep it stock, keep it right kind of guy. I can appreciate the superbuilds but they don't do much for me. I'd rather see something restored to perfection.

Bodgeneering all the way for me. I know I haven't the mindset to do a concours restoration, and I'm a tightwad to boot. There's also the stupid contrarian streak that loves irking the purists and rivet counters. I do tend to buy at the bottom end of the market and full on restoration would be even more stupidly uneconomical than is normal.

Have to say, I'd like a 50s Chevy pickup with a decent engine and wheels but not slammed etc, just decent suspension and driveable on real roads.

Wouldn't say no to a 'modern' Cobra either.

Basically I like old stuff that works like new stuff.

Modern take on a classic - old looks but modern running gear and reliability.

I like the individuality of a classic with the practicality of modern engineering.
Having said that I had a gen 1 MX5 with a 13B rotary turbo, so not exactly classic, and not exactly practical modern engineering either!

Subtle for me, I like sleepers or cars that have very minimal done to them. I’m the same with my bikes, I always tend to add on subtly accessories and none of these tacky add ons which everyone seems to love. Each to their own but when folk add on all this colour matching shit like bar ends, rearsets/foot pegs etc it just looks like cheap tacky shit.

Modernised classics for me, no point in keeping poor design for the sake of it.
I don't chase performance though, I've found faster and better handling cars can be pretty dull to drive.

Either fairly stock or improved if possible. Sometimes the alterations aren't an improvement but as stock parts can be hard to get even just kept working is fine.
Zero interest in mods that make things worse just to achieve a look which is how come I'm never much of a fan of the half finished Cafe Racer contraptions with no filters or mudguards.

I love the stuff Kindigit Design do (on Bitchin' Rides). Its vaguely the same sort of stuff as Fast n Loud but way less TV bollox and much bigger budgets...well I assume there are, but the budgets never get mentioned. I know it's about $250,000 and a couple of years wait though!

My beemer has lowered suspension and a lip spoiler added (necessary to keep it in check) but otherwise looks standard.
I am highly amused when I see the faces of drivers in performance cars (and occasionally bikes) when they think they are fucking off into the distance do a double take as I'm still right with them.

Getting very expensive though, I have been considering a classic as my next car for amusement at lower speeds / higher mpg.

This. I love customs, I love the engineering but personally I'm too tight to throw the 1000s at a base bike that cost me 100s. And I similarly care not one jot for fancy paintwork. Not a fan of standard bikes - I can only see the faults.

I hate both the presenters of those two shows by the way. I don't have big enough boots (they're 13s by the way) to give Richard Rawlings the hoofing in the stones he truly deserves. And that Wayne Carini geezer (what a name FFS) wins the World's Most Smug Cnut award every day of the week.
