Its that time again...... rider transfer season 2022-2023

Post by Bigyin »

Following on from the confirmed signing of Jack Miller to the Factory KTM team for next year, according to the German Bike press he will be joined by Pol Espargaro back in the KTM family although Pol is heading back to the Tech 3 team leaving Miguel to partner Miller in the factory team with Remy Gardner alongside Pol.

Fernandez may be moved to the new RNF Aprilia satellite team.

This all leaves the door open for Joan Mir to move from the defunct Suzuki squad to Honda to take up the vacant Pol seat.

Who is going to get the Ducati seat next to Pecco, looks like Bastianini to form an all Italian team at the moment ;)

At the moment WSB is fairly stable although rumours are Rinaldi is on the way out of the factory Ducati having had his chance to shine and not shown what they expected

Everything I've heard says that Brad Binder and Jack Miller will be the KTM factory team members. Miguel Oliveira is on his way out of KTM.

I got the impression Ducati really wanted Jorge Martin alongside Bagnaia in the factory Ducati team, but Martin can't seem to stop crashing, plus he's fresh out from an arm operation and his results may not be spectacular for a while.

Bastianini has been doing everything he can to win the seat over Martin. Thing is,do Ducati want two factory teamates of similar ability and hunger,or would they prefer a solid wingman for 'the chosen one'? Miller and Bagnaia supposedly have a great working relaionship, which helps Ducati develop and win.

Remember what happened when Dovi and Iannone were team mates? Ducati didn't like that and it effectively finished Iannone's carreer in Motogp.

(Sort of on topic) - what is the point of Darryn Binder? Just because your bro is a bit handy is no reason to be occupying a MotoGP seat when you're clearly way out of your depth (i.e. more than a bit shit).

Yeah. Last year they gave Jake Dixon a few goes on it and he did OK.
Still baffled why they chose DB instead.

Well it's not like any of the other known fast guys apart from Quat can actually ride it, so how much can you really expect Binder to do as a newbie?

Hodgy and the other BT Spurt pundits are forever singing his praises and saying what a great job he's doing. Maybe they know things we don't.

Yeah. Can't figure that myself. Brad I can understand, Darryn not so much. Do they bring a lot of money to their respective teams?

Well he's riding the same bike Dovi can't get out of last place with. Dovi who has ridden GP bikes for years and won races

That's not what I'm seeing. Darryn is almost always dead last. Admittedly Dovi isn't that far ahead of Darryn, but he has been out of MotoGP for a year or so and is one of the oldest riders (if not the oldest) on the grid.

More rumours abound with Oliviera now heading towards the RNF Aprilia squad and maybe Alex Marquez out of LCR and replaced by Rins who is now vacant from Suzuki with Marquez heading to a Ducati satellite seat

Young Marquez was Moto2 champ, but naff all since. His big brother may have been pulling some strings.

This would also fit with Bastianinni moving to the factory squad to take Millers seat
