I cut my hair today!! Well, the back! Kinda interesting with the scissor hand not working properly
But, whilst a bit messy, it seems relatively successful! LOL
Hopefully one of the friends I'm seeing tomorrow will tidy it up LOL

Re: What have you done today thread?
Woke up a bit too early, but seeing as I went to bed early, it was okay. Did the shopping first thing at 8am, then mowed the lawn, cleaned up the kitchen and did some work. Just taken daughter into the shops and on my return had to go back and deliver my wife so she could help daughter "make choices" for the shopping she is doing. Ah well! Had a bite to eat now and will think about a glass of wine later on. Tonight will be a light meal, I'm not preaching tomorrow, but am leading the Jubilee Parade service, so will take my robes and be properly vested for the service.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Tidied up the corner of doom in the garage and found a tyre for Weeksy.
Started putting together a few tools and bicycle spares for our trip to France in a fortnight.
Made a tubeless inflator out of an old fire extinguisher
Cleaned out my old grease gun to remove a blockage.
Re taped the tyres on my road bike so I can use it to commute and save a few quid on fuel
Now having a quick coffee at route 59 after filling up the guzzi

Decided I was bored having to clamber up to a cupboard above a wall unit in the utility room every time I want to read the leccy meter, so set up a lazy man's way of checking...

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got the fairing off the Triumph after cutting off about 100 zip ties. Wiring doesn't look too bad but the horns are really grotty and will need stripping and paint.
Paint on the tank isn't pretty where it was hidden behind the fairing but the bikes done 50k so I'm not eating money on paint .
Looks like I've got to drill out some security screws to drop the ignition barrel so I can mount the trident speedo but that can wait until I've got the new headlight and I've checked everything is wiring again.

Binned the standard LDV seat for a transit one with an arm rest. Apart from rubbish seats i needed somewhere to rest my arm when driving. Just need to remember where i put the seat trim and back adjuster knob.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had a busy day today. Jubilee Parade service with Rainbows, Cubs, Brownies, Guides, Scouts and Explorers. 50 children and 140 adults at the service. Was a blast and such fun! We then had our tree planting afterwards in the Church gardens followed by an full afternoon of entertainment, picnic lunches and hat parade, cream tea and much more. We had over 250 people at this and it was very much appreciated by all who attended. Our Jubilee Exhibition in the church covered 7 decades of the Queens reign and by Tuesday will have been viewed by over 1000 children from the local schools. It is a fantastic experience for them and has a quiz, video and some items to play with, like an old clock work train, a tape to tape recorder and more. Then evening Holy Communion with me presiding, prayers for Ukraine afterwards as usual and home by 8.45pm. Long day, but a lovely one.

If you can and they are still as good then ex BT vans seats are IME the comfiest van seat. They had adjustable lumbar support.
Today I've driven from Skye to Helensburgh and watched far too many bikers trying to smear themselves into the passing traffic or the scenery. Not all sportsbikes and not all UK plated. FFS people up your game.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Ill have a look as i need another with a R/H arm rest for the wife as all she has just now is a non adjustable bus seat. Its finding an adjustable one with an arms rest and built in seat belt. Apparently i should be looking at truck seats. Anyway i want Mk2 Iveco Daily wheels so will pop out to the van breakers at Wishaw soon and see what they have

Re: What have you done today thread?
Fab day yesterday as my local friends took me to theirs for lunch - and hair dying! LOL So I'm back to nuclear pink hair
It's forecast to be stoopid hot this week (well, stoopied hot for me, normal for Yorick!!) which is a sod - I've already got 4 mozzie bites and that was just friday evening
But, the walking (yay - walking!) at my friends place yesterday was tiring. Turns out that I both a physioterroist and an occupation terrorist here Bloody brilliant for rehab but I'm seriously tired and it's only just after lunch
One more session to go then a quiet day tomorrow
But, tis all positive really

Walked up to Leith Hill tower. Sat in the sun, had a pasty-sized sausage roll, tea and a slab of cake. Watched a few planes on final approach to Gatwick. Looked north to see what I could spot...most obv thing now is Wembley arch.
Pretty quiet up there, which is nice.
Back and knees survived so that's nice too.

Re: What have you done today thread?
That was one of the great things about going during the week. Most people were on foot, quite a few dog walkers and a couple of (motor) bikers walking up wearing boots and carrying their lids. 4 or 5 mtbers turned up - all pedal powered - at the tower, that was all we saw.Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 1:19 pmWere you not run over by Santa Crux eeebs?Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 1:13 pm Walked up to Leith Hill tower. Edit: As is tradition, the bicycle riders got tea'd up then chatted intensely about their new titanium wobbulator spigot, the pros and cons of unobtanium grunge pins, why mullered set ups steer faster and why volatilised osmium gas in the tyres is the best choice when tackling 'Widowmaker', 'Ogres Delight' and 'Knobswinger'.

Bumped into a colleague I used to work closely with some years ago on the derivative side of the business when it was based in London.
He's now the CFO of the bank.
His success mocks my abject failure, lack of ambition and quite remarkable absence of any discernible talent.

You lucky bugger! It's been over 30 by midday the last few days. My physio just told me they expect 38 degrees towards the end of the week
And I fing HATE mozzies! Don't get them where I live - and the temperature rarely gets to mid 30's!!

They had unobtainum grunge pins , cool But I really surprised you would have a titanium wobbulator spigot rather than a uni-directional carbon one.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 1:23 pmMr Moofo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 1:19 pmWere you not run over by Santa Crux eeebs?Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 1:13 pm Walked up to Leith Hill tower. Re: What have you done today thread?
Another freaking awesome day today!! I'm so bloody glad I live here. The rehab set up for physical injuries is amazing!
Current place isn't quite as intense in some ways as the previous place, but there I was only working on one injury/problem/group of muscles. Here its two, on opposite sides!! Makes life interesting, tiring and kinda cool when things go well. I think the shoulder injury is making the process of rehab longer for the knee because I can't use two crutches, and I can't use the one I should when using one, cos that would be the right side, and that's the arm I can't use for crutches!!
Anyway - today's major positive/bonus/happydancemaking thing! With one crutch I went for a walk around the garden with the physio. In full physioterrorist style, she made me walk down the stairs and back up! No lift for me today! LOL But damn that made me happy. Very hot and very tired, but very happy!! LOL She has also said I can walk around now with one crutch on my own - previously I could only use it to go to and from physio, and with her in physio!
I found out something this morning that I'm relieved about but also a bit shocked/surprised! The doctors came in for the weekly 'shout loudly but not slowly at me in French and assume that volume will help me understand' meeting. I suspect my shoulder surgeon has had a chat (she did said she knew one of the doctors here very well) as I had told her that I rarely understood what the doctors here were saying, but figured if it was really important, someone would make sure I understood!! LOL) because the main doctor made more effort today to make sure I could understand her!
Firstly (not 'the' thing) I had to ask for a prescription for more HRT as I missed my appointment to get that cos I was in here and couldn't get to Chambery!! No problem they said, a junior went off and came back with one. As they left, the main doctor took it back and examined it and then said "aren't we giving you the HRT?" Well, no. If you were, I wouldn't be asking for a prescription!! LOL
The weird thing came out of me asking them why I was still having blood tests as the site of the one last week is still painful and the one this morning was really not nice either! She said something about anti-coagulants. I must have had a big question mark above my head or on my face!! So she said - because you are having the anti coagulant injections every day, we need to do a blood test. But now you are at 95% weight bearing, we can stop the injections and the blood tests
That was interesting - I haven't had an anti coag injection since the surgeon stopped them on 22 April and no one here has ever suggested I have one!! Wasn't sure whether to or She looked pretty horrified, both at me not having any whilst here and because the surgeon stopped them before I even got here!!
But hey, luckily I didn't get a blood clot and I hate the injections, so it's pretty much a win win - just a very lucky one! LOL
Should be walking without crutches next week and building leg muscle whilst still working on the shoulder
