This ^^^

Cheapo oil ain't gonna be a problem for 5 mins, or even 500 mins, running to see if it leaks.

Back when I had a Suzuki Swift that would burn all of it's oil once every 2000 miles I bought stuff from Wilkos which was £12 for 5 litres IIRC.

You don't own Austrian wonderfulness
I did consider this but to be honest I simply don't know enough about oils, viscosity etc. I do know you can't buy cheap oil the same grade 10/60W. But I am open to suggestions ! ?

This is what I'd do, bearing in mind I'd say I'm a cheapskate bodger. I'd buy the cheapest multigrade possible, a supermarket would be the first place I'd look purely for convenience. It's summer so it'll not be too thick because of the cold, you'll not be running it long enough nor hard enough for any appreciable wear to happen, all you want to be able to do is listen to the engine noise when it's running. AFAIK with the exception of castor oil based lubes, R40, all other oils, mineral semi synthetic or fully synthetic will blend with each other with no bad effects.

Chuck in the cheap oil, start it and listen. If it rattling then you know something's wrong, if not then gently run it until warm drop the oil and refill with the good stuff.

A real tightwad would use used engine for this. There's usually a half filled tin under my bench waiting to go to the tip. If undisturbed the crap slowly settles out.

Remember, this advice is worth what you paid for it. :banana-wrench:

I was like that but my old GPz if using Tesco oil i would have to top it up between services yet never had to with Shell. Now i only use that shit if i want to do an engine flush.

I always used Mobile1 on the commute bikes, changed every 4k. I've run several motors past 120k and have never needed to adjust anything. The rest of the bike will be knackered but the engine will be sweet.

Wife wants the spare room done up, or given a make over, or whatever they call it. It also needs a bed as my daughter took the one that was in there when it was her room. The wife starts getting carried away with this, so I stepped in, found a nice looking one on Wowcher supposedly discounted down from £799 to £259 delivered and it has drawers in for storage etc. Its just arrived and it's barely worth what I paid for it but it looks nice! But, the real bonus is, it came with a mattress, which I hadn't realised! Result!

Any good though? I finally got around to testing the 'spare room bed' (snoring got too bad for the missus one night) and feck me the mattress is uncomfortable (compared to our 1k mattress anyway). All those poor bastards who've been tortured the last few years.

You don't want the guest bed to be that comfy otherwise they'll stay longer.

Ihaven't put the bed together yet, but not too worried if the free mattress isn't that good. We rarely have people stay over and if ee do its normally but daughter and her bloke and they are skinny anyway. If they did say OM that mattress is awful, then I'd obviously buy another, which is what I was expecting to do anyway, so no real loss.

All guests bring happiness. Some when they arrive, most when the leave.

My pleasing purchase: WINE!

Love a bit of Laithwaites as they've never flogged me a dodgy bottle of plonk. If you dig around you can find discount codes, fuse an original email address (the one you never use, the kids' email or borrow one from a non-wine drinker) and you can get good introductory offers. Today I got £113 off two cases in total, plus free delivery and a 'mystery bottle'.

Mmmm. Wine. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

Nah. I don't care for French wine (too thin) and the foreign stuff they sell is the same I can buy in my local supermarket.

Good for a day out, or to nip up to Adinkirk (sp?) to get fags and baccy but other than that, not worth it.

In the camper we always bought about 100 bottles and bill was around 200€.
Sampled and rated each box and arranged them in garage accordingly.
A box of good stuff at start of party.
Then medium later and crap after midnight :obscene-birdiedoublered:

You paid €1 per bottle of wine and there was some good stuff?

Bollox. I meant 100 bottles. My mate lives near Pontivy and tells me what to buy :)

I get funny looks here in the rehab centre. Not cos of my hair - after 5 weeks they’ve got over that!! (Although hopefully it'll be back to nuclear pink on Sunday, so I'm sure to get some looks then   )

It’s cos I’m so happy when something good happens/when my progress is very obvious :D On Tuesday afternoon I did some little (one legged) dances as I managed to do some walking at the parallel bars for the first time leaning just a bit on my left arm :bblonde: , made everyone else in the physio room laugh, so cheered them up too   Well, TBF they all looked at me like I was mad the first couple of times, when I realised they didn't understand the dance (ok, a bit of a wiggle!) I said "je peux marcher, je peux marcher" and then they all nodded and grinned. And started laughing as I did about 8 'lengths' of the bars and had a little cheer and wiggle/dance at the end of each 'length'  :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

It is weird tho, so few people seem to celebrate the little wins here in rehab. And I think it's so important - mentally at the very least!

Often I see someone that I know by sight (from the canteen) and they’ve started using crutches or someone who’s been in a wheelchair due to an amputation and they are walking with a prosthesis and crutches for the first time or I've only seen them do it once or twice before, so I do a little ‘yay, c’est très très bien, super’ and grin (ok behind a mask, but I know my eyes smile too) and a kind of cheer by raising my arms (well, one!) a bit as if I was standing cheering!! People always look really surprised but once over the shock they nod and smile back. The therapists often giggle a bit

Not sure why more people don’t do the same! Surely it’s awesome to see a fellow patient progress so much

Anyway, I’ll keep doing it cos it makes people smile!! It makes me happy too :D :D

But it’s a shame it surprises people so much!!
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Talking pink hair. The wife also has it pink but she re did it a couple of days ago so slightly darker than in the picture. Mate came round yesterday with his grandson who did not like the colour to the point he was scared and wanted to go  Poor wee sod. Mates partner used to be pink also but due to the kid she is more blues and purples now.

My wife has half pink and half blue hair, previously she's had all blue or all bright red (i.e. obviously fake, not ginger :obscene-birdiedoublered: )

It doesn't seem odd at all to me any more, I think that sort of thing is fairly mainstream these days. Certainly is 'round here, I've seen a GP with blue hair and had my blood taken by a nurse with pink hair.
