Jobs you have done because of isolation you otherwise wouldn't

Post by Futter »

So far ... Taken down old pergola, dug up vines, fixed spade, fixed the curtain wire and got a job. With Morrisons. I know from t'other place I had moved out but I've had to move back as parents are isolating and Mrs is a key worker, with kids off school it would have been too much strain. It's actually going ok.

What have you lot been up to?

Stuck some self adhesive soundproofing/insulation that I had recently acquired to the Garage Door. If nothing else , it is now quieter to open and close.
Got both Lawnmowers up and running.
Mowed the upper lawn.

So far..

Emptied a shed, moved it, refilled it.
Emptied a green house, dismantled it, moved it, rebuilt it, refilled it (never doing that again, ever)
Fitted new strip lights in the garage.

Lots more to do over the coming weeks too.

Dug up old coal bunker.
Dug up concrete base.
Dug out roughly 8 cubic mts earth and moved along with rubble to bottom of garden to start reclaiming the lost 20ft of garden.
Still about another 50 cmts to go!
Need to clean the bike.
Need to run up the 10 and check compression and change thermostat after ALmeria.
Not even going to start listing the jobs I need to do at the other house

On a lighter note, I need to dig a grave for the kids. They're not dead yet but they're bloody working on it!

Decided to sort out my numerous tool boxes. I only need one and my kids have given a rousing yes to the surplus. Then the dreaded screws and bolts collection. Not looking forward to this.

I have to rewire a part of the garage and clear out the garage loft space.

We're hoping to move, so this needs to be done.

I have plenty of things that need doing.

After a week of DIY and decorating, I decided it was time to head into the man cave for all the jobs I've been putting off. The 2 dirt bikes that we use, were so dirty that I couldn't do much till they were washed. Don't think I've ever washed them before

They came up OK and were each a few kilos lighter after setting the jet washer on them :D

Over the last few days sorted power from the house to 2 sheds using the proper armoured cable instead of the mickey mouse set up previous owner used. Fitted lights and sockets to the one the bikes are stored in
Converted a fallen tree from neighbours garden into logs for my woodburner by chainsaw and axe
Cleaned both bikes
Cut grass and strimmed garden
Washed the TT inside and out

I should add that all the above would have been done anyway due to mostly being retired..... i need to find more work :D

Nowt yet but I might have snagged a job working at the local hospital.
Likely find out tomorrow.

Beats where I am now as making lodges for wankas doesn't seem essential to me. Plus I'm getting sick of the hierarchy where I am. Too many eejits in charge.

I see you've already chosen the place and started digging.

Put some hooks up in the garage and had a general tidy round, which wouldn’t have been donee because we would have been out on the bike! Lovely day for biking but there you go, we all need to pull together on this until it subsides.
Life’s for living, so let’s get on with it! :P
