Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I have no idea why, but my knee has started working (almost) properly again?!?! Considering I couldn't walk 50 yards on Friday, and physio told me there is no point in my attending sessions anymore, I have no idea why I suddenly can walk again? I had a steroid injection a month ago which did nothing, so unless that has inexplicably kicked in? Pretty happy about it whatever the reason!

Turned up on time. Did a great job and even tidied up and took all the old panels away with them! Best of all, the cars and camper fit on the drive now. Job jobbed!Taipan wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 9:33 pm Finding a decent fencing firm that actually turned up to quote for moving my driveway gates back and fit some new panels! They come well recommended and I soon found out why, as they gave us some good advice and price options for different ways to do the job. TBH they were getting the job before I even got the very reasonable quote! Top result as now I'll be able to keep the camper at home, along with both our cars on the side driveway!

Unlockable zip-ties! Who knew?!
(Just had something delivered for the garden and it came with a bag of zip-ties that claim to be unlockable. Wonder if I've been cutting them off for years when they could have been undone? ).

Low profile tyres innit.Mussels wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 6:12 pm My car passed it's MOT. I was worried as I have a cut in the (ineffective) rim protector bit on the side of a nearly new tyre but he said it wasn't structural so not a fail.
Not so happy I have a flat spot on a wheel, not enough to fail but the third damaged wheel I've had with this car.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Not particularly insignificant, but it's made me seriously bloody happy!!! I've been grinning and dancing in the chair all morning!!
Today in pool therapy I did a 'normal' exercise. Used a baton held in my left hand to push my right arm in an 'external rotation of the shoulder' movement.
External rotation is the one thing that was still a challenge/painful in Feb when everything else was reasonably good. And anytime I did this exercise or the physio in resort did that movement 'for' me, DAMN it caused pain. In my upper outside arm muscles
Today I did the exercise in the pool and NO PAIN
I did it a few times cos I wasn't sure, then called over the physio (today it was my physio in the centre running the session) and told her. We were both very happy. When I told her after the session that it's not the first time its not cause pain since I've been here, but the first time since the accident, almost 5 years ago, she was pretty much dancing as much as I wanted to!!! LOL
Freaking AWESOME

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Was walking into town past the dump/recycling place and saw a load of wood.
Ran home and got it all in the Duster.
Just as I was leaving, a van pulled up to get the wood
About 40 bits all about 6' long.
Mostly good heavy timber. Will be great for winter nights sat outside

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Wanted a 2nd drill for the work van and got this combi coming on Saturday. Its about 150 quid just for the two battery's if bought separate. Another 20 odds for the charger. Probably same again for the box so the drill and small rattle is a steal i thought.

Almost all* zip ties are to some extent undoable.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 3:32 pm Unlockable zip-ties! Who knew?!

Just slip a knife point or small slotted screwdriver into the pawl part of the ratchetting thing and you can reuse em a few times.

Some Honda motorbikes' cable ties have a little release button on them! I still have a couple from when I was breaking bikes !demographic wrote: ↑Sat May 28, 2022 6:07 pmAlmost all* zip ties are to some extent undoable.Count Steer wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 3:32 pm Unlockable zip-ties! Who knew?!

That's not environmentally friendly.
Most can be undone with a screwdriver but I've had some where the ratchet loses it's spring so can't be used again.

And if you cut them right you have usable but shorter zip tie. For years I didn't need to buy any as I'd pick up cut ones and daisy chain them together.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I must have thrown 200 cable ties in the bin last week. All them little ones that you never use in a mixed bag. Think i used them once when i made a loom for the back of the camperbus. I kept 50 or so as i need to make another one soon.
