Can you imagine how much worse it'd be with a beer bottle top though.

Cousin Jack wrote: Mon May 23, 2022 10:26 am WTF has happened to screws?

I need some smallish wood screws for a particular repair job. They need to be round or pan or cheese head, I can cope with any reasonable driving system but they MUST have a flat shoulder rather than a countersink head. They can be alloy, or nickel plated steel or brass, anything except that horrible cheap nasty black japaned finish.

B&Q don't have any (quelle suprise), Screwfix don't either, nor any other of the local builders merchants. Oh for an old-fashioned ironmonger!
None of these any good?

I've settled for Screwfix who do some dual purpose self-tapping/wood ones.

It's finally happened, we have Covid in the house. After successfully avoiding it for ages my wife caught it at a big family event where not attending wasn't really an option.

It was my thought but you need to lock the two cams, pump and crankshaft. If you cant get the pins in its nit timed. Bloody thing drives like a dream and pulls well. I can have it in 5th and doing 35mph and it pulls away just fine. Next is check any brake drag and i also have a big magnetic brake assist that slows the prop. That is heavy and old so coming out and a new to me prop going in.

Prop brake! What is it, a commercial vehicle or coach? Not sure I'd remove it as they work well to stopping brake fade on older vehicles...

Its a Coachsmith Convoy Bus what is larger than the average Convoy and made of alloy and fiberglass. Its a Mk6 transit engine and has ABS. Many never had the extra brake but this was in service in Welsh Wales so presumably ordered for its location in the valley's. Its a heavy old unneeded lump of metal that is going in a fortnight.

Tis a thing of beauty! Service it! You drive all over Europe don't you? That would be handy winding down the alps, or the Ardeche etc. Have you ever gone on a weighbridge when fully loaded?

I'm annoyed at myself for not checking current eBay fees. I sold my bicycle for £530 and they paid me £461.86. Thats a chunk of anyone's change!
