Japanese RestoMod Kawasaki

I’ll leave those more knowledgeable than me to comment on the origins and abilities of this beauty, but for me I do like the job these guys have done to this Z1-R.

Yes indeed. I approve. Fairly faithful to the original and to my eyes still looks pretty damn fine.

That zorst will be the very devil to keep clean.

I wonder how it runs without an airbox? My Z1 ran very poorly.

When I was 19 with my GT750, a pal bought one of these. It was fast and cool, but didn't do well in sales.

AC Sanctuary build nice bikes, it's had money thrown at it, but you have to have the taste to know what to do and when to stop, before it becomes a tarts handbag.

A school friends uncle had a Z1R, but he did own a Kawasaki dealership.

Lovely piece of work. Looks the part but the subtle upgrades mean that it will go, stop and handle just as well as it looks. It's certainly got all the right bits bolted on, but everything works together. Not normally a fan of old '70s IL4s, but that's a cracker.

Doesn't make the mistake of putting wrong way up forks on a bike that came with right way up originals.
